When it comes to receipts from dinners, day trip receipts or even weekend getaways(hotel itineraries) we lack these. We never thought to keep receipts and most hotel itineraries are on my husbands old work email which he cannot access anymore. Should I just write a letter explaining this?

Thanks!

What you should consider are things like:

- photographs of you together and with friends, family, etc.
- any bills in both of your names
- any mail or letters addressed to you both
- (if you're married) copies of receipts for things like your wedding venue, rings, wedding photos, etc.
- Tickets if you went on trips together (plane stubs, hotel bookings, passport stamps)
- any additional communication you have (emails, screen shots of text messages, phone logs, etc.)
- lease with your names on it

I ended up using the IMM form questions to explain our relationship in detail. You can continue the explanation on additional pages. Mine looked like this: click here.

I made an appendix for all my supporting documents that looked like this: click here.

Some people include far less and are approved. It really depends on what you think your relationship requires to prove legitimacy. I spent quite a while apart from my spouse, so we included phone logs for a year. Those who didn't spend time apart or who have been longer together than my spouse and I don't need that.

You know your relationship best. If you've been together for years, have lived together for quite some time, etc., you may not need what I needed.

Good luck!

Yeah I have all that evidence: my application is done I was just inquiring if I should include those things. My relationship evidence is this:

-Photo timeline(256photos)
-Facebook chat(195 pages) I only included 3 convos per month
-Wedding evidence( receipt from wedding dress, wedding bands, engagement ring, wedding program, emails with wedding planner, letters we wrote to eachother on wedding day, etc)
-Travel( all of my visits and trips taken together including intinerary and stamps)
-6 support letters by family and friends
-Facebook posts/Status's showing our relationship was public
-Conversations that I and my husband has had with each others family members
-Joint rental lease

Plus all the questions answered on the forms

That is overkill, especially given the fact that you've lived together for quite some time.

If you want to include that many photos, I suggest putting multiple photos per page so that it cuts down on the page count. For example, if you have 10 pics from your holiday to X, put them all on one page.

As for the chats, given that you live together, there is no need to really include much. CIC only really cares about such evidence from couples who don't live together. You can include a few from the times you were apart but you really don't need anything more than that. The VO is certainly not going to look through all of that; GCMS notes from others show that CIC simply shreds the majority without even looking at it.

I have 3 photos per page. I wanted to show them our whole relationship. My husband and I have done a lot of trips and vacations along with other things!

Also there is no limit for the evidence you can send. They ask for evidence so I am sending it ....Even if they do not go through all of it. Better safe then sorry!

Cheers!
