Labeling extra and supporting documents

I've read of people adding a header and page numbers to supporting documents. Wondering how you add this for documents that are photocopies? Do you write in pen at the top? What is there's no room?

I added a cover page before each group of documents explaining what was attached. I'm not done yet, but so far so good.

Thanks! So specific supporting documents weren't labelled? I read sometimes people do it in case the papers separate or out of order.
