LA Passport Turn Around Time

I too submitted my passport on April 1st and have not heard anything from them yet. This seems to be pretty frustrating that people are left in limbo with something as valuable as their passport.

The whole experience of applying for VISA online was not good.

hey how long did it take for u to get ur passpart. I have been waiting for 12 business day now ever since my passport was delivered

Was suprised to find the USPS man at my door at 11am this morning. Guess what. We got our Visas's

Package posted to LA consulate - July 10th
Package received by LA consulate - July 12th
Passports received back by us with visas - August 3rd

Good luck everyone. Just make sure you send all documents listed in the checklist and you'll be good to go.

Yuuuu.....Passport are delivered today.. Sent passport using one express mail envelope and included one return envelope. LA consulate returned stamped passport in one envelope. Good luck to all visitors ........

Sent to LA: July 29
Received at LA: July 30
Return activated: July 02
Passport Delivered @ my home : Aug 03

I plan to travel to Canada on 8/31. Hoping to hear from there in the next few days. Will I see an email from CIC for passport request?

Someone who applied on 7/12 got their passport on 8/10. (Thanks for posting samz99!) So hopefully it wont' be too long for us. Please update the forum when you get your request.

What type of visa did you apply? I live in Massachusetts and applied for a tourist visa online on 7/22. I wonder if the type of visa and the location of your home address matter (might be routed to NY vs. LA for processing?).

I applied online for TRV visa, how do I know it is LA or NY. Application Submission letter doesn't say either. Applied on 18th and we are in TX.

Visitor visa. I live in California (Bay area) so I chose to send my PP to LA. Not sure I understand what you mean -- the choice between NY and LA is all up to you, after you get the PP request, and doesn't affect the time it takes to render the decision.

Thanks vld. So where do the online applications get processed initially before a decision is made? Does Ottawa handle all the online applications and send out passport requests?
