Hello all,

I am married to a Filipino who lives in the Philippines and have applied for his permanent residency last year in September 2015 through an Immigration Lawyer. We have complied with all the requirements however my husband worked in Kuwait as an OFW for 2 years and the Canadian Embassy (in the Philippines) has requested a Police clearance from that country which is understandible. I applied and paid for this Police clearance at the Kuwait Embassy in the Philippines on November 3rd, 2015. We are now September 8, 2016 and have still not received it. After numerous calls to the embassy and visits by my husband to the embassy, their answer is always the same: "Sorry sir, nothing yet, you will just have to wait". We are being held hostage by this Kuwait government and we have explained in writing to the Canadian Embassy as well as provided proof of our calls to Kuwait embassy. I am at my wits end. What is going on with Kuwait and the Police clearances??? Can anyone tell me? Is there something that can be done about this?? I NEED HELP. I am on the verge of a depression :(

Update the Canadian Embassy in Manila that you are constantly following up to no avail.

If you can get it in writing (even email) that your Kuwaiti PCC is still in process, even better, then you can forward that to CEM.

Sadly, nothing much you can do to speed up the Kuwaiti Embassy.

Thank you but I have done all that, sent print screens of calls to the Kuwait embassy in Manila requesting status of the Kuwait police clearance. Print screens of all attempted email contact with Kuwait regarding this matter.

I just don't understand how a country can get away with not providing a police clearance to another country especially when it's been paid for and we have a receipt.

The very best case scenario is if CIC can proceed with your application without the PCC if it turns out the Kuwaiti Embassy is unreliable.

hi mam,

how is your husband's pcc in kuwait? did the kuwait embassy already gave you the pcc?

Hello LOVK,

No not at all. No news from them either when we call to follow-up. In November it will be 1 year we are waiting >:(
