Hello everyone,

I did my citizenship test in Kitchener, ON on November 3rd 2011.
I am confident that I have passed the written test and that interview has gone through without any causes for concerns as well.

However, it's now June of 2012, practically seven months later and I have not received anything back in mail.
No notice that I have failed or passed. Absolutely nothing!

I checked the status of my application online and it says "In Process".

Last entry in the log that they provide online, states that I am scheduled to have above mentioned test on November 3rd. It doesn't state that I have taken the test and/nor that I have passed or failed it.

Up until now I was telling myself that they just need more time to process the large amount of these applications, etc, but reading through these forums and seeing that it is uncommon for people to wait for the test results this long, I became really concerned.

Can somebody help me out here with couple questions I have regarding my situation.

Based on everything stated above:

1. Did I pass or fail the test?
2. Is it possible that they have lost my test? If yes, how can I prove that I have taken the test?
3. Should I contact somebody and who exactly where I could get straight answers regarding my application?

ps: I think I need a hug and somebody to tell me that I don't need to worry and that everything is going to be okay, lol. :)

EDIT:
I don't know if this is relevant, but my current status is Landed Immigrant. I received this status back in February of 1999. This was also my first time application for citizenship.

Hi,

7 months after the test in not very common. Call the Call Centre 1-888-242‑2100, they might be able to tell you what is going on. If you failed the test, you will probably have to see a judge.

I've planned to call tomorrow.

In mean time if anyone else has any more info that you figure could be useful to me, please post.

Another question...

Would they let me know if I failed the test? If yes, when do they usually do that?

Apparently I've passed. It's just waiting a bit more now.
Who would have thought, eh? It's very uncommon that you have to wait this long.

You became a PR in 1999, but you are applying for citizenship now? What have you been doing for all those years?

The short answer is: None of your business. ;D

The long answer is:
Not everyone wants to get citizenship the moment they are eligible like yourself. I'm a good example with birth rights to gain me freedom of movement to over 30 different countries. I've been in Canada since late 90s and this country finally convinced me to apply for *PR* in 2009 and *citizenship* in 2011 after my second child was born.

Some countries have restriction on people from getting a second citizenship so these people will live here as PR forever.

Fair enough. What's your nationality then, which enables you to live in over 30 different countries?
