Kitchener local office after Bill C6

Why Kitchener office is very slow, we paid them money to process our applications on time ( 12 months ) or at least same as other locations ( Toronto, Montrial , etc.. )
Qutrit didnt get his test invitation after 12 months of application, is this Normal?
Can we do something ?

His application was received on Nov. 9, 2018 so although it is coming up fast technically it has not been more than 12 months yet. By the looks of most KW/Waterloo applicants, they are getting their test invites plus or minus a week before or after the one year anniversary of applying.

An update:

Today makes 1 year since my application was received. I haven't heard yet about the interview....

Below are my numbers:
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on December 13, 2018.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on February 26, 2019.
  3. We started processing your application on March 21, 2019.

Last time I contacted CIC (web form), they did say that my application is in Kitchener office now to verify the eligibility if we meet the requirement to be Canadian Citizens. No invitation for the test yet. Any thoughts?

My application started processing in January and no invitation yet either.... What is the web form you're referring to to contact CIC?

Hi everyone,

Finally, got my test invite today.
Kitchener office on November 29th.
My timelines is as follows:
Applied on November 3rd, received on Nov 5th, fingerprint request on March 7th and Test invite on Nov 12th.
Good luck everyone - it looks like Kitchener office sends test invites exactly 1 year after sending application

IF its more than 1 year then give CIC a call. they will be able to help schedule your test ASAP.

Right now for Kitchener office peeps are getting test invites within 12-13 months. And then it takes another 1.5 to 3 months for oath ceremony.

  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on September 7, 2018.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on November 23, 2018.
  3. We started processing your application on December 5, 2018.
  4. Test invitation received: September 3, 2019.
  5. Date of the citizenship test: September 18, 2019.
  6. We sent you a notice on November 8, 2019 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on November 26, 2019
Today I became a Canadian citizen :)

Received test invite today.

Application received on December 21, 2018. In process as of April 24, 2019. Test date is January 8, 2020.
