Just wondering how long it took for anyones permanent residence status to be approved after it changed in ecas to "in process". It says they opened my husbands in November 13. Curious how long it will be before we hear anything from the Kingston office..

Re: Kingston office... how long to approve after interview

My husband had an interview Dec 2, 2014. (We were married Feb 1, 2013 and our application reached Kingston July 10, 2013) I was there also and the interviewer spoke to me and after hearing what I had to say simply said "I just need to be sure that you are sure". I said I was, my husband was given a form for another medical and a letter saying I would need to pay the RPRF (right of permanent resident fee). I got back to Canada and a letter from the case processing department in Mississauga, dated the same day as the interview was in my mail. It said "in order to conclude this application" I needed to pay the RPRF within 30 days. I paid it and sent a copy to Kingston. On Dec 29,2014 I got an email from Kingston saying they received the medical and RPRF and our file was now back in the pile with other applications like ours for further review. Has anyone else has something like this happen? And if you have how long did it take to get to the next step (requesting his passport)? Curious and frustrated.

Ok I'm back WiC and try this link below which should take you directly into the Kingston thread and scroll down. You should be able to see where I posted your question and in the same post I have provided (hopefully easy :D) instructions for you to start navigating. Don't worry about mistakes, most of us did the same as newbies. Blessings.

Thank you so much for your help. Just as I thought I could get on the site and see what others were going through...and asking questions, my husband got the request for his passport. I'm thinking we're very close now to bringing him to Canada! So far it's been almost 19 months.

You are most welcome and hang in there! :) You and hubby will be together soon, so enjoy the excitement and anticipation and try not to let "the last bit of waiting" make you too stressed. Blessings.
