Hey, I was wondering if anyone has tried the new online forms on immigration canada? they seem like a great idea, but im just wondering if you have to fill them out all at once or can you do a section and print it off and do another one another day or how it actually works? Also does it matter if I fill out ALL the forms and my husband just signs them or do they want him to physically fill them out? And with the medical and security checks do I have to have the paperwork in first or he does those before I out in the papers? cause they send the results in directly right? so they need somewhat of a record of who he is do they not?? I guess im not sure how ALL of it goes yet... sorry for ALL the questions...

JillA - fill out the new forms, they can save you a lot of mistakes because they are validated before they are printed, and they also will speed up the processing of your application a little bit by making it easier for the information to be entered. You can also save them and continue working on them at another time, if needed.

It doesn't matter if you fill them out, just ensure that the answers in the sponsored spouse questionnaires are HIS answers, not the answers you think he might give. I filled out my husband's forms by asking him the questions one at a time, using a "draft" copy to record his answers, and then filled in the "clean" copy and sent them to him for signature.

He needs to do the medical and security checks and send you the copy of the medical form from the DMP and the ORIGINAL police certificates. Try to have those done as close as possible to the time for submission, as they expire after a year. Additionally, police certificates can be no more than 3 months old when they application is received at CPC-M, so you are on the clock with those.

Really I was told that he wont even see the results of either the police report of medical cause they get sent directly to immigration?? thats incorrect info?

He does not get the results of the medical, he gets a form confirming that he presented himself for the tests, which must be included with the application.

The police certificates must be collected by the person in question or an authorized person, the Criminal Records Division no longer accepts responsibility for mailing them to embassies etc. So he will be required to collect that himself, or authorize someone to collect them for him, and then send them to you for them to be included in the application.

OK thank you, And sorry one more question..(for now)lol... I got his Swiss criminal record check back, its all in german so I know that it needs to be translated, but does it need to be by an "official" translator ans stamped or can it be done by anyone?

Official documents such as marriage certificates, birth certificates and police certificates MUST be officially translated.
