Good evening forum family! Just straggled back in from Negril after going through Montego Bay and taking Knutsford Express from there. Hubby had never been on the north coast, so it was nice to come back that way and share it with him. We had a fabulous time in Negril, words can't describe. But enough about me! We have updates!

I am so excited for all of you, and now,thanks to your vibes I'm feeling excited too, I was feeling overwhelmed and sad, just missing my babes...But I'm feeling confident.. thanks for the update Charlie, I was just married in Negril on March 19th.

I had a meeting with a consultant about 2 months ago, and we're looking at $4000, I think I will pass and just start the paperwork on my own. I just dont even know where to start!

I love all the baby news...congrats to all the new mom's and mom's to be!! it's got me thinkin...

Suki, congratulations and jubilations You chose a marvelous place to get married, but I am biased, Negril is home, LOL.

It can be done on your own. I would not say, yes or no, it is up to the individual to decide to use a consultant. However, if you wish to do it on your own, then I say more power to you. My recommendation is for you to take the following steps first:

1) Download all the forms for sponsor and applicant, including the region specific guide for the applicant and the document checklists. See here:

2. READ ALL THE FORMS. One by one, separately and together with your partner, so you both understand what will be needed from you both.

3. Check out the following link to the manual used by immigration officers to process overseas applications:

That's right, the process is laid out there for you to see what the immigration officer will be measuring your application and relationship against, so READ IT.

Take your time reading the manual and the forms. When you have done the reading (more than once!) come back for more advice and info. Happy reading!

Welcome Suki, and yes I agreee with CharlieD10 we cant tell you what to do. I can only share my own experience with you. I compiled all the paperwork myself alongside my husband. Thank God for my work as I am an administrative assistant it assisted me with keeping organized.

I must say keeping organized with papers is a great thing. Your key audience: Immigration Officer, what to do for the I/O is to make everything easy for them to follow, the easier it is the easier it is to review your applications.

Hey Can-Indy-Jam, nice to "see" you too! Yes, I had a great time in Negril. Hubby and I had not had a chance to spend as much time as we liked with my older brother and his family, so this was a very special time for us. And Negril was its usual laid-back, easy-going self.

Morning Forum Peeps. Welcome back Charlie and thanks for the update and NO you should not go away more often. Have you and hubby heard anything aout your file? And how long is hubby spending with you in Ja? Must be s nice to have him all to yourself for so long?

Hahaha, ladyposh, yes ma'am. We haven't heard anything more and no changes on eCAS, hopefully when he goes home there will be the letter waiting for him regarding sponsorship approval. He is with me for another week, going back on Apr 21. It is wonderful to have him here, I cannot tell you how great it has been to know he is here with me. We are already planning his return trip for our first anniversary, then he wants to come back in Sep so we can attend a wedding together for friends, and hopefully we will be together by the end of the year.

Nae - eat healthy, low calorie foods like fruits and veggies. You will satisfy the hunger pangs without adding a whole lot of weight. It worked great for a friend of mine when she was pregnant with her third. She was never very far from an apple or carrot, LOL.
