Good morning everyone

Hoping everyone is having a nice Sunday so far. I am cleaning like a madwoman, doing a little extra cleaning on top of the regular weekend clean so the place looks nice. Hubby has only spent a week in this apartment, he left soon after we moved, so I want it to look welcoming when he sees it again. I might go get some groceries later, not much because he usually likes to take care of the cooking when he's here, but I should at least have some beer in the fridge waiting for him.

Ok my bags are packed...and I'm ready to fly out tommorow!!! I have so much today..despite the fact that I tried to have everything done so the last day would be easy breezy and peaceful...didn't happen. Jamaica is so on its own time and people I asked to write letters and past landlords with rent receipts.....psssh....they all saved it for today to get done despite having like weeks or more notice. Thank you Jamaica LOL LOL LOL!!!

So I'm looking at my suitcase and I have a big bundle with my immigration stuff. I'm gonna make a checklist as I don't have time to go read through past threads at past questions at this particular time today. Please you guys are my second opinion/checkers whatever you want to call it. Please tell me if I've missed anything from my husband/ or the Jamaica side...down to the tiniest thing.

- Got his police record, and its signed by him as well.
- Got his immigration photos....eight of them. None of them are signed by him. Do any of them need to be?
- Got our daughters immigration photos...eight of them.
- Got the medical receipts as recieved from the doctor.
- Got scanned copies of their passports first page with all the info. Have about four copies of both passports.
- I had my husband sign all the pages of his section of the immigration papers.....as well as one page in the sponsership part where it says he is supposed to sign.
- Do I need copies of his drivers liscence?? Like scanned copies?
- I have rent reciepts from two of the three places we've lived. We are unable to reach the guy for the first place as he is abroad. Will this be a problem?

-I have letters of support from two of our three landlords, neighbours and friends here in Jamaica. As well as when I get home...I have about a bazillion letters from friends and family...almost all who've met my husband, or at least talk to him on Skype of BBM.
-I have original birth certificates and marriage liscence.


Now the rest of the stuff I have at home...and am finishing at home so if there is anything from my side that I don't need from Jamaica....I will be taking care of that in Canada, just in case your noticing anything missing from the list on my side.

Alright can anyone tell me if I'm missing anything please?

No, they don't need to sign the pictures, but you need to put their full name and date of birth on the back of one for each of them. Just one out of each eight.

You don't need copies of his driver's license. That's what the passport and BC are for, to establish identity. What about copies of his school leaving certificates? I know those aren't strictly required for anything, because this is spousal, but I included mine because they established the background section for me: when I left school and when I was taking my accounting courses, so I included my certificates to verify those periods.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else right now.

Wait!!!! I can!! your husband need to sign certain pages of the application. I dont have the info on which pages he must sign, but mabe someone else here does, my copy of my package is with my immigration specialist.

SQueen have a nice flight home, unfortunately it is pretty cold still. How long are you gone for?? leaving is so hard, I will be thinking of you tomorrow

get that app in the mail and done... then you will feel SO much better. I know when I took my application in to be mailed I felt like the huge weight on my shoulders had lifted and I was giddy the next day (until I faced reality and realized I joined the back of the LONG line ahead of me) LOL thank goodness for this forum and the support laughs and shared encouragement here!!!

Hey everyone....

Randysgirl...thanks chicky! I think I will be ok...leaving is hard...leaving hubby is harder but I read through this forum and I realize that I could be one of those apart from their spouses....in different countries....waiting this long long while for papers to come through and counting every day as it drags by. I am, and I recognize this...extremly blessed to not only live with my hubby....but to be able to do it and to have a good job and a nice place to live...in a country thats almost impossible to make a life in unless your born into it. I truely feel that I would be kinda ashamed of my self if I complained to hard....considering I am very lucky.

Honestly....I would like the papers to come through quick but I don't think I will really notice the wait time as much as some do. Originally we were gonna stay here anyways....so its kinda like....life goes on while we wait....you know. We have a decent quality of life...and we are always busy.. However...maybe once the papers are in, I will get impatient...who knows!!

OH BTW....

About the parts and things my hubby has to sign.

Just want to make sure I didn't accidently miss something.

He signed all the papers in the permanent resident section, and he signed the spousal sponsership paper...the one that asks him to sign. He signed his police record check as well. Thats everything right?

charlie - glad you got some sleep! I bet you'll be smiling for the next 3 weeks

chelley - I had a really busy weekend....didn't have much time to rest but it was awesome!!! the supposed girls night out was actually a surprise bridal shower...yes backwards but my family wanted to wait until hubby got here. Got my son to the dentist, his braces weren't removed so he's truly peeved...one of his teeth was out of place so another month or so for him. Then they did a cleaning and found some cavities so he had to stay and get them filled. He and hubby went to a movie while I was at the shower. Then Sunday we went out for bfast then bed shopping....I thought of lonely wife cause hubby managed to talk the guy into throwing in a bed frame, mattress cover and set of sheets for free ;D man I'm such a sucker....just pay whatever the asking price is ... I'm so Canadian!! lol but hubby saved the day with his bartering, yay!!! he and my son had a great time laying on all the beds in the store hahaha it was a great weekend! I just feel so happy right now
