Good afternoon everyone!

Congrats to all those who received updates. It's nice to see some movement.

Has anyone ever received a response from Kingston when sending an e-mail or fax? My husband will be staying in Canada so we've needed to update the contact information, confirm they've received the payment and medicals.

E-cas is funny, it's always different and our B number doesn't even work. I know that it's still early for us but I contacted my MP today to see if the information has been updated. I'm concerned that we'll miss out on an interview or PPR request because its still being sent to the Bahamas.

Do you think it will do any good?

I've had one email from them, way back when I applied for a TRV (denied, of course) I emailed them to ask when I could collect my passport and they responded.

If you send a fax, make sure the file number is very prominent on it, with the applicant's name and date of birth. I don't know if they will acknowledge receiving it though.

Can someone tell me how to contact my mp, do I call or email or just go to the office, and what do I say to him, I think I need a intervention before I loose my mind and I'm not so far from that,

wait4star try not to worry lately I couldnt even sleep properly I know its hard but worthit in the end.

Lucky I was on break at work (at school) he was laughing & kept repeating "YES BABES" then I knew!! he said he was speechless just listening to the lady speak then said "thanks i will come Tues". We both agreed to celebrate with a bottle later (TGIF) & we will tell the rest of the family...cant wait for the BAM BAM now lol

still at work cant wait to leave but yes WAITING I just called my MP initially he sent them an email with no response then he suggested last week to contact Ottawa for the notes he said 15 days but contacted me yesterday. You can order CAIPS but think takes 30 days.

lilmaya i contacted my MP because of AOR saying different date from my ECAS (2wks) but then he said they misplaced my docs & asked for med number again but he did say usually its 15 months but because of the meds??

ANYWAY GOT TO GET BACK TO WORK HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE HOPE NEXT WEEK STARTS OFF GOOD GO KGN!!!!!!!!!!

Lilmaya, it is unlikely that an MP will get involved if someone is under the standard timeline for the Visa Office. Since KG is at 15 months, it generally does not make sense to contact them if you are still below that. However, if you received an AOR with a different timeline, and you are past that timeline, you could call.

Knowledge is power and I just don't know what i'd do without this forum!!! The combined experience on this forum is just so helpful.

Does anyone know the approximate average time it takes after Kingston has received your package before an AOR is received? Our package was received December 14th.

Jahlove, before the CIC website was updated to reflect the processing time for just 80% of the cases instead of 30%, 60%, etc, some visa offices used to issue AORs that stated "normal processing for spousal cases is x number of months".

So, if you had an AOR like that, I would say, contact your MP if you are past that, because that letter is giving you a time by which you should have heard something. If your AOR doesn't say that, then you are not likely to get anything positive from the MP, because they are going to ask you how long you have been processing and if you are below the timeline they see on CIC, they might say contact them when you are past it.

Lilmaya, most AORs I have heard of were issued within 30 days of the file being transferred to the visa office. However, bear in mind that KG was not in the habit of issuing them for the longest while last year, so they might not be up to speed with it like they should be. Some persons who filed last year in April didn't get an AOR until November, and their cases were finalised soon after.

So, again, KG does things its own way, and we just have to manage as best we can. :
