I believe most peole get a phone call, if i remember correctly..... they usually ask you to bring it in but you can also courier the documents. They have also at times asked for any other supporting documents since you sent off the application as well - such as any more pictures, boarding passes and western union receipts etc (depending on the IO)

I recieved a letter requesting original documents which read:


This letter refers to your application for permanent residents in canada.

Based on the information you have provided it will now be necessary for you to provide the original documents

Please submit these documents...in person or by registered mail ensuring your file number is enclosed.

No later than 60 days form the date of this letter...please note that your application may be delayed if requested documents are not forwarded to this office.

There was more stuff in it.....but you get the idea.

I don't know if they attempted to call and did not get me and so sent the letter, or if a letter is standard procedure.

As far as I see when it comes to Kingston there's no standard rule!!! They just do whatever pleases them if you ask me because they called my husband to drop his Marriage certificate off and yet some people gets a letter. :

hello friends!!!!

I want to congratulate everyone for all the updates!!!!!!

I am back in canada safely, I landed friday night and was very busy all weekend with my best friend stag n doe....

I haven't heard nothing from Kingston while on holidays and me and hubby were disappoited but nothing happens before it's time so I am keeping my head up that things will work out for us very soon

I also spoke with my friend on the farm program and he let me know that his brother can help by getting his contact only if the person has a visa already but he did say to check at the ministry of labour and they would have more info and they have contacts.... sorry ladies thought i could help more.....

Just wanted to say that I had a wonderful 2 weeks with hubby, I am feeling a little depressed but I feel like he will be here soon so I am easing the pain by thinking that he will be here in a few weeks!!!! keeping my fingers crossed lol

I am not feeling too good lately and I feel tired so I'm gonna try to rest as I am back at school tomorrow and I start work again on thursday so I have time to rest....

Lonely_Wife welcome back...sorry you did not get any good news while you were in JA. I had my fingers crossed too while I was there...but since it was only 5 days my chances was very slim.

Well I am truly hoping that KGN gives us some good news this week. This week will mark 6 months since my file hands been in the hands of KGN. I pray to the heavenly Father for them to do some wonderful work this week.

welcome home lonely .... no worries, you won't be lonley much longer! I really thought your hubby would get the call while you were there...darn!!! it has to be any time now so don't be depressed, just busy yourself with preparing for him to be here. Get those closets cleaned out and drawers emptied .... that will help pass the time and once he does get the call you won't have to scramble to get it all done. Just a suggestion

lady posh - should be any time for you too! Looks like it's around the 7 to 8 month mark for people lately (according to the updates list)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll hear some more good news from KG this week!!!!

NaeNae...that is what I am thinking too...around the 7-8 month mark. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

If I can be frank with you guys as I know we all seem to be honest with each other...Do you (Ladies) ever worry that things may not work out when you and your loved one come together and live as one? I mean have every belief that things will be fine...but sometimes i think about the saying " see me and come live with me are 2 different things". I am so in love with my hubby and I really dont want anything to go bad....especially when there are people sitting on the side to say "i told you so". I am confident in our love and know it will take hard work and we of course will piss each other off at times and it's all about how we handle the situation.

Yikes what a think to worry about eeeh!!!! Let me get back to thinking and hoping KGN will do some wonderful things this week...LET'S GO KGN!!!!!!

lady posh - don't worry so much about that....if you both love each other, and want to be together, you will both make the effort to make sure it works. Yes living together and visiting are 2 different things. There are many things each of you have to get used to once you start living together on top of your spouse having to adjust to moving to an entirely different Country. It's culture shock for them so you have to try to be as comforting and patient as possible for them. Also remember not to be hard on yourself or him when little bumps occur....just roll with it and make adjustments when necessary. Once you have settled into a life with both of you working, there are other things to get used to too. You both have to compromise with one another. One other thing for us is that hubby has always said breaking up is absolutely NEVER going to be an option so we have agreed that we will work things out no matter what. I think it's normal to think the way you do, but get it out of your mind and concentrate on the positive rather than the negative. That's just my own advice.

Thanks Nae Nae...my hubby and myself say the same thing about breaking up...IT IS A NO NO! We have agreed never to go to bed no talking to each other...We always try make things good before laying our heads down to sleep. I just want to get our lives together started!!!

Good morning forum family, hope everyone had a great weekend. Ladyposh don't worry about the little things. You and hubby will eventually have cross words for each other as any normal couple will. You will work it out and find a common ground to work from. You have created a bond that most couples do not have as when they started thier relationship it was as a couple together not a long distance one developed mostly over the phone and other telecomms.

I here you on that...I think about the "what if's" briefly from time to time especially when you hear all the bad stories. But I'm like you and know that our love is strong and will overcome all obstacles. I think hubby gets nervous sometimes too because he was told that women sending for their husbands often change once the hubands arrives. Its all these people on the outside that place these negative thoughts in our head. Its not going to be easy and yes we did not have the opportunity of living together but I personally think going through this process and dealing with the ups and downs of relationships miles apart is a true test of our love and committment and we will prevail. Its funny cause I always say to myself "why do people want to share and scare us with the bad stories and not share the positive ones????" I've come to learn that there are so many amazing love stories of people reuiniting and making it after being miles away.

Nae nae I have a question about caips notes... i saw while i was away you posted on that and hubby signed the form for me while i was away.... on the form itself where you choose caips i just want to make sure did you write yourself as being the requestor at the bottom with your address??? did you write a cover letter cause in the instructions it says not to include any other paper but the 2 forms and the cheque.... i am looking back and it seems like there was an ottawa address is that where we sent it cause i was under the impression it needed to be sent to an address in the gta... maybe i didnt read properly.... i also wanted to know how long for it to come in???

Ebonyshine...I am very positive about my relationship but at times I try to take myself out of the situation and look at it very am arial view and everytime I do that I can see how ppl maybe negative about a longdistance relationship but everytime I come right back to the fact that we are love in with each other very much and this is the real deal.
