QUESTION
I have been reading this forum and realized that it's quite a useful place to get information. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH BEING A LANDED REFUGEE FROM JAMAICA AND INCLUDE A FAMILY MEMBER FROM THERE IN YOUR APPLICATION?? WHAT IS THE PROCESS LIKE FOR THE FAMILY MEMBER THERE AND TIMEFRAME FOR PROCESSING?? ANY ASSISTANCE WILL BE GREAT!!! THANK YOU!!!

For those who recieved PR....is it by phone generally or mail? Just curious as hubby can't really answer phone in the day at work! Will they leave a message you think? ::)

Ebony from my experience and others here, they normally call, they don't normally leave messages. My hubby missed his first call and he picked up at their 2nd attempt. I guess if they try calling repeatedly without success they may send a letter!!!!

WOOHOO GREAT NEWS BROWNSUGA!! Thought you were soon in the line remembered you, me & Godbless got our doc reqst round the same time til we even joke say we have the same IO LOL but now I dont know ::)?? still waiting to hear from MP

GODBLESS love the landing story is nice you can use the seasonings & cook hubby dinner when he come home tired from work & its good you had prior experience of snow so it wasnt such a shock to the system :)

I'm curious like KIMORE (no1 answered) he asked after you do meds again when are you most likely to get called for PPR is it a matter of days/weeks/mnths?........

Missinghubby, not sure about anyone else with a refugee claim, and not familiar with the process so I can't answer your question. But welcome to the thread, nonetheless, please stick and stay. Give us your details and timeline so far, and we will add you to our updates list, and you can wait with us :)

Brownsuga, you book di man dem ticket yet? :P

Chuckie & Kimore

Usually there is a bring forward date of 60 days after any request from KNG excluding your Passport Request unless you are nearing your end of medical expiry and then they may ask you for necessary documents and deal with your case quickly to try and get you out of the country before the medicals expire.

Bring forward date = the next time they would look at your file.

With that being said, we have had KNG ask for original documents, medical redo's, police redos etc and look at the file before or after that 60 days bring forward date - we all know that KNG is very unpredictable and that doesnt seem to be changing any time soon.

I would assume that if it is your last request such as Medical redo prior to your PPR.. then you would be looking at no more than the standard 60 day bring forward date.

MISSINGHUBBY

welcome aboard - someone can correct me if i am wrong but I dont beleive we have had anyone that has applied under refugee status. I am not sure if I read your post right or not, but did you say you are trying to sponsor a family memeber and you are in Canada under refugee status?? I am pretty sure I have this confused. Right?

missing hubby

is your family member in Canada applying for refugee status or in Jamaica trying to come to Canada on refugee status?

@KC...........thank you, hubby did his interview two weeks ago it was successful. was ask to redo meds, so i just wanted to know. thanks again.

KC416 are you saying that it takes them 60 days at all times to go back to your file if something is missing or they request info?

KC-They requested my hubby's pp from Dec.16. I went to my MP they told me that the last time the file was checked was Jan. 4 but there's no BB date. Does it mean that the next time it will be looked at will be March 4, of this year ? Thanks.

@ kc416 thank you I was just thinking if we have to re-do meds how much longer they may take...(although got a bit of time as hubbys runs out June) lets hope we hear something positive b4 then, 2months is another long wait (but I guess thats 60 days max)??

LCW quiet she must gone JA go eat some nice food & cool out your new arrival is near & NAE NAE following swiftly behind you both

Apart from these updates it will be nice to hear about the birth experiences too... SO MUCH TO LOOK FWD TO :)!!

Just checking in before bed! :P :P :P :P i am a happy little bunny, will be off the forum for a few days! got lots to do, but will check in...

well tomoro is another day and i am not ruling any days out. KGN may make some calls tomorrow!

Ebony.... I dont think they do leave messages because they actually sent me a letter requesting our passports and when i went to drop off i asked the lady if their system has changed, if they are now sending letters requesting passport or what and her response was... ''no our system has not changed but if we are calling you and cant get you then we would have to send you a letter'' so i would advise that you hubby keeps his phone on vibrate so that he doesnt miss a call because that could add a lot of time to your process.

lata guys, gonna get some shut eye and dream of CANADA!!! :P :P :P
