Hi everyone,

Just want to share some news. My husband is here in Toronto on vacation for a few weeks until our anniversary. We met up with some friends recently, some of which went through the sponsorship process. They all (3 of them) assured us, once their file went to Kingston they received PPRF request appx. three months after. I know we haven't seen much updates here, but this gave me a bit of hope and hopefully it does for you too. They are people outside of this thread who rec'ved some sort of request, but we just don't know about it. So let's hope and pray to see some updates here shortly too.

I am new to this site and in the beginning stages of getting the application completed. My husband and I are applying outland from Jamaica. He has completed the physicals for himself. We are waiting for the police check to return. Kingston police headquarters told him that they would send the police check or clearance letter to CIC mississauga. Is that correct or are they supposed to give my husband an original copy to send to me?

Hello and Welcome,

I've never heard of that unless policies have changed, the only thing that gets sent directly are the Medicals, you're supposed to get a copy of the police check and send it with with your application.

I'm not sure about them sending anything to CIC. He should receive the police certificate in hand depending on the processing speed he chooses.

For those whose medicals are a close to expiring you now have up to 15 months to request a reassessment(extension).

You're right the writer was referring to the Right of Permanent Residence Fee or RPRF..ours was also requested appx 3 months from the file being transfered to KVO PPR followed 4 months later. Hopefully anyone who hasn't already paid the RPRF and has the means to do so please pay before they have to ask.ours was paid less than 24 hours after it was requested and we a till had to wait until they decided it was time to pick up the file again.

They are suppose to give you an original copy for you to include with the application. It will have his picture and such and will state if he is found in their criminal system. On my husbands copy with was like "such and such does not appear in oour criminal system". Even if they tell him that , tell him to tell them he wants a copy for his records
