Good Morning all, no work for me today in the morning.. going to my midwife appt to finally get confirmation if this little one is a boy or a girl, they better tell me or i am going to go postal on them!!

Lady posh, dont listen to them... pay it... print off the form from the internet website take it to the bank, fill it out, and send it! you totally dont need to wait until they request it... only thing you need to wait for them to request is medicals.

Sick, if they are asking for an itinery then yes, you need to go buy your ticket, just make sure your ticket is for a day before you medical expires. Usually they do this when your medical is closed to expire and they want to know for sure that you are going to be leaving before then. Is this a safe assumption that your medical is going to expire soon? just take the e ticket which includes itinery with you when you drop off your PP and you should be fast tracked to getting your PP before that date.

Jammy... nice to hear from you girl....... did you suprise people? Wish you could have stopped in a stayed in toronto for a while, me and maple would have come and checked for you if you were there for more than a few hours.... !!

ladyposh - you can pay the fees online if you have a credit card, you can also request a form to be mailed to you from the CIC website. I did both - paid the sponsorship fee online and then ordered a form to pay the RPRF fee at the bank. Unfortunately, they no longer had a form online when I did it, you have to request they mail it to you and I don't know how long that will take. I paid the RPRF fees a few weeks after I sent in the application. I'm with kc on this, you should pay it to avoid any future delays in the processing. Just be sure to keep your receipt in the event they ask for it, you can prove you paid it.

I am probably way ahead of myself as far as time goes, but I was wondering about interviews. If they require an interview, do I need to go to Kingston?

I was advised to pay all the fees upfront to ensure there were no unecessary delays, and to send all the info at once (medical, original new form birth certificate, criminal check, proof of relationship documentation, letters from family etc) I am using an immigration service.

I lived in Jamaica for 6 months, but have just returned. I wonder sometimes if my husband will find it as difficult to adjust to life in Canada as I did living there. I worry that because I live in a small town if he will feel isolated, if the cold will be too much, if he will hate the food etc etc. Although I can always take him to Toronto for day trips to get a little culture!

I love to see all these happy endings, I find it hard to even imagine sometimes that my husband could be here next year- it seems impossible sometimes...

Anybody have any idea on how to contact Kingston immigration by fax??? We have been trying for 2 weeks (several times each day) to get a fax through. It does not work! Has anyone been able to fax something to them in the last 2 weeks? - We have tried from different locations and fax machines. Is there a way to get through by phone? We have sent emails in the past but have no evidence that those are ever read. Has anyone ever gotten a response by email?

sick... congrats!!!!! awesome news.... go ahead and book the ticket, i think the 16th would work, that gives them the standard 2 weeks TAT, and worst comes to worst you'll have to bump it by a few days...

randysgirl... which part of jamiaca did you live in? i was in rural clarendon for 7m waiting out hubby's immigration (and the kids school term to finish.. and a nice cheap flight to get as all home )... when we got back we stayed with family on this end, and my husband had to deal with rural ontario life too... he was very congnisant that he stood out in the community, but didn't really get out and about much... since our situation was temporary, i'm sure that it'll be different than yours, he just basically laid low and other than getting the necessities (SIN, drivers licence, etc), he really just stayed home... which isn't much different than now that we're back in the city... we've been here since May and he still hasn't been to the downtown core! mind you, he's lived in a mega city before (London), so i can see how toronto can fail to impress...

ladyposh... i've only paid the fees via credit card, so i'm not sure how you go about doing it if you don't have one... i suggest if you can do that, do so (needn't be yours if you don't have one)... waiting for them to request it will only, as mentioned, add time.. the online process is very straight forward as posted below... i was a few weeks post-partum, ill, and beyond delerious when i paid and although i don't remember the details, i know i didn't mess it up!
