Hey Guys,

So CIC on February 25, 2016 requested that my husband submit a new police certificate, his birth certificate, his passport and a prepaid courier coupon....with that being said

a) documents being submitted locally which is better...Tara or DHL?
b) Do I submit a copy of the birth certificate?
c) Having submit all these, how long does it usually takes for a respond or for the to return his passport?

Congrats on your PPR! :D

Not sure which courier is better, we went with DHL but I know ppl have also used Tara and Fedex without any problems as well. As long as you get a tracking number it shouldn't really make a difference :)

Maybe someone else can give some input about the birth certificate, but I assume they mean send in the original at this point since you probably already sent in a copy when you applied? You'll get it back anyways when they send the passport back. Not 100% sure on that one but that's what I would think they meant.

And there are a bunch of us on here right now all waiting to get our passports back, if you take a look at the spreadsheet in my signature you can see the dates they were requested, the dates they were sent in etc. to get an idea of how long it will take. Two ppl have gotten them back so far and it's taken about 2 weeks for both of them, so hopefully it's around that long for everyone else as well :)

Hello Everyone, I have a question for you all. When the visa office say that your file is in the process of finalization, and you will hear something soon. The question is what do you think would be an average time you think it would take to hear from them.

I have a feeling you will hear some good news in the next week or two! :) CIC seems to be flying through applications right now and you have waited longer than any of us so it's definitely your time now!

Can't wait for the day you finally get your PPR so we can all celebrate with you, you and your wife deserve this! :)

Soooooooooooon! :D :D :D
