when did they start to process your application?

Applied March of 2015. Kingston began their part beginning of June 2015. My husband interviewed in December 3rd and just received the call today!

During this application process I became pregnant and or son was born on December 3rd. I was told months ago this was likely one of the reasons he was selected for interview which may have sped it up a bit.

His interview didn't go wonderful, so he has been worried. He said the questions were fine but at the end they had some harsh criticisms about the fact he had a short marriage in his early 20's and had a baby with another woman during this time. Despite the fact it really should have no baring on our marriage they questioned that he had changed and that he was committed to our marriage. They told him he had 30 days to proof his commitment. While he was interviewing I was in labor and our son was hospitalized for a week after birth so December was extremly stressful for our family.

We sent a package to Kingston with reference letters, our sons birth certificate and our wills in dec 28th..

My husband had just said two days ago that he didn't think they were going to contact us for quite some time so today was an amazing surprise.

Can not wait for my husband to hold our so. For the first time!

Congratulations. This is a beautiful story and I hope that all goes well for you. It's nice to hear that Kingston is actually doing something as it's been very quiet lately. I don't know you but I wish you all the best.

Congrats Sara on your hubby passport request.... I wish you and hubby all the best with your newborn baby...This chapter is coming to a close and a new one will open when hubby get to canada..

I am a little confused reading through the threads and I am hoping that someone can clarify this for me please. I am looking on ECAS and under Permanent Residence Application Status it shows the following:

1) We received ***** application for permanent residence on November 13, 2015.
2) We started processing ******* application on January 25, 2016.

I am hearing so much about this 3rd line...What 3rd line lol? The only thing that I see missing is confirmation that they have his medical which was done upfront and sent in with the application. Someone please explain if this is normal

Thanks everyone!

They called him Shanstar.

It seems like it's taking 4 weeks for people to get their passports back after they send them, is that right?

Thanks Maddants.. I was starting to worry because the medical was expensive and my husband had to go back for more tests. I will watch and see. :D

Update Everyone, I finally got back a reply from Kingston office saying that i dont have to send the police record and the updated forms to them at all because they told me that CPC-Ottawa is the ones dealing with my application right now. So i should just ignore the email that i got from Kingston. I sent 2 email to Kingston office but one of the email i sent to the High Commissioner himself and he apologize for the inconvenience.... I search everywhere trying to find an email for the commissioner so i made up one and it work....lol...... Right now i have to say God is on my side looking out for me.

Commissioner email address for Kingston

sylvain.fabi@intenational.gc.ca

Sylvain Fabi
he is the new commissioner for Canadian embassy in Kingston Jamaica

FYI: if you use this email to write to him you will not get any confirmation email at all like you get when you send it to the regular email address
