Hi and welcome,

Yes it can takes more than a month to receive the approval letter. Usually you received an email mentionning they have received your package and they started processing and after you received an approval or denial letter. But don't hesitate to call back after June 26th to make them send it to you if you dont receive it.

I added you on the spreadsheet but I need more info. Who you sponsor? Which province you from? Ecas status on PR when you will have acces...

Thanks

Thanks Mel B....I sponsored my husband and Im living in Ontario

Sorry but what exactly is ECAS....I finally rec'd an email on June 25, 2015 and I was approved as the sponsor and our application has been transferred to the Kingston office...what happens next???

I do see where they made mention of a medical exam but that was submitted upfront, the information seems generalized, however Im wondering if I should have my husband submit a new once since that one was done on June 11, 2014. Im a little confused bcuz when I check out application status it clearly says medical report submitted.

Good day Ally,

If you had put on your application an email address and you ticked email for correspondence then it should automatically be sent to the email.

Hi Ally,
eCas is the online way to check your status.
As for the medical, you can wait to see what they say, sometimes they allow an extention. You could be proactive and email them to see if they want new medical as well. Just so you know, kingston doesnt update ecas very often. They took about 2 months to tell me my medicals were received. I wouldnt have known that info if i hadnt emailed them.

Hi everyone,

So I check my status just now n it change to decision made, that means they stamp the visa in the pp, n just waiting to send it back now?

Ok this is what I found out from Dhl with the hassle of sending my passport to pos, Dhl doesn't provide prepaid envelops or airway bill any more so if your sending from Jamaica to trinidad Dhl will let you sign a consignnee form that you will make payment when the package return to Jamaica on delivery or pick up, if your not familiar with this info then ask cause they won't come out straight to say that service is no longer available.
Oh n make sure to tell your spouse to copy the consignnee form n send it with pp so the office will know to just call Dhl for a pick up and they will give Dhl the form then when it return you n Dhl take it from there n keep a copy for yourself n still send a fax if you have to

All my documents are in my maiden name. The only thing that reflects married name is my banking info in Canada. My application, passport, is all in my old name. So I figure my COPR will be in my old name. I figure to make a smooth transition I should let my old name remain as is and after receiving card I do a name change with my marriage certificate. Question now tho is: should I be/ will I have to be walking around with my marriage certificate on a daily basis after landing in Canada? Anything that I am doing do I use my old name until I get a name change?

I know what you mean! 4 years ago I really wanted my hubby (then, boyfriend) to be at my university graduation. He was denied the visa and man it was hard for us both! Thankfully, when your family is reunited there will be many other opportunities to share together!

I agree. Quite unfair to take so long. This "family reunification" process is actually doing the opposite and keeping my family apart. I dont see the fairness in that at all. And why does it take soooo long? I wish the government had better guidelines as to certain protocol these VO's should be following. If its so backed up they should hire more people. Seems like 1 person alone is running Kingston

4 months?? Wow!! I guess those persons had every bit of thing on their application very well in odrder, nothing expired within that time also....and they sure got a case worker who moved on rapid. Wish that were the case with the majority of us....I am hopng we see more PPR's on the move Kingston. Hubby's, wives & kids waiting.

Will my hubby and family wait on the outside general area for meeting passengers or will he be able to meet me inside after I complete landing interview/processing and clear customs and immigration? Yea I know, I am talking as if i have even gotten PPR already...Lol.

follow gov. protocol my ass, the VO them run inside there and they making sure to approve who them want do first. them have a sign on them forehead that says we don't care. and as for Kingston they really don't care they should be checking to see all the Kingston app that got transfer to pos be done in timely manner but they don't care either. pos has my file from 2014 feb and am still here in Jamaica still.
