Ok sounds great then, they will probably sent you something very soon cause obviously they will realize that you did not receive any email or any mail. Good luck girl, keep us posted ! :) I sure the end is near!

Congrats Steen, nice landing story, just out of curiosity for you or anyone else what kind of questions do they ask at immigration???....

So today my mp confirmed everything was fixed on my file in Mississauga so now it's up to Kingston, they said as soon as it was fixed the visa would be issued immediately so let's see what immediately means in Jamaican time, the only thing I have going for me is this has become a problem case for them that is causing them trouble from the ministry of immigration so lets hope my family is home next week

Hi, hubby and I flew to Canada together, I was with him at immigration
They asked to see his documents ( COPR, Passport...) confirmed his identity , asked if has criminal record
( then joked that he wouldn't be here if he did), asked about our relationship ( where we met... they have all the info ( your meeting story, and everything else on the computer screen in front of them) where he will reside, type of work he will pursue

Hubby applied for his SIN ( took only a few minutes)
Then he recieved a welcome to Canada package ( bag filled with booklets about Canada)

:D Congrats Steen!!!

This is great news MrsK! Hopefully you will be reunited ASAP!

They are requesting pictures and correspondence and proof of travel... all the supporting docs they already have... hmmm

Since your file is more than a year, they are requesting update of those documents. But honestly it is usually only Port of Spain requesting updates like this. My file was in Kingston, processing for over a year also and they only extended medicals and called hubby for PPR and they never requested anything else. I don't know why PoS are so strict like this.
It's soon done, keep the faith ! :)

Hey!! :D

Newbie in the place, hail up to everyone on the forum and a big CONGRATS to those who got through successfully!!

Question: Got married two years ago in JA, I recently sent my application to the CIC office located in mississauga around last year Nov, how long does it take to get a response for first stage approval? Dem Neva even sent a letter stating they received my application or nothing.

At that time, i believe that the wait time was 28 days for them to make a decision on whether or not you are approved to be a sponsor. My AOR was sent by email and about a month later I got an email stating I was eligible to sponsor and my file was transferred to KINGSTON. You can also call the call center as they should have some information for you... it should not take a year for a reply.

Hi and welcome!
Usually u should receive an email to advise they received ur package. But it can takes 2 or 3 months presently. So u can call Cic in Mississauga to verify if they sent u something already. After this u will receive the approbation of sponsorship via email or courrier. Keep me posted. I will add you to the spreadsheet where u can see delays of process of people here. Look in my signature for the link.
