WELCOME! Whether or not you use a lawyer depends completely on your level of comfort. Some people prefer them and others don't. I personally don't recommend using a lawyer because like you said, you're doing most of the work yourself. Using a lawyer will not ensure they will believe you are any more genuine than not using a lawyer. And if you don't use a lawyer, CIC and Kingston immigration will speak directly to YOU rather than always waiting on your lawyer for a response as the "go between".qwizardgal said:Thanks, as I was working on his paperwork ( to send to him to sign) it seemed to me I was doing everything anyways and that it would be better for me to do it all online. I will try to sift through all the responses on here to come up with answers....
Lucky I read quickly..lol
Has anyone had issues with them not believing in the reality at immigration? any suggestions? the lawyer did say it could be difficult because its Jamaica. Ive met most of his family but not mom or son ( I talked to mom) lots of pictures of brothers and cousins and my friend and daughter there too. But there is an age difference and the fact I have not met his son makes me think that can set off red flags. The mom hasn't allowed it, not unlike here sometimes.
As far as whether or not they will believe you, that is entirely up to your VO and your Application. Just be honest. I will name some red flag instances where people have gotten through:
- Met and Married in 6-9 months
- 10+ years age difference (sometimes 20 years)
And these people have gotten through because they are able to prove it's genuine and ongoing. We are here for all your questions and before you even worry about it... you are NOT annoying! (we all think it at some point) We are here for one another, so don't hesitate to ask
