Good Morning!

Congrats on the amazing landing stories!! SO excited for you ladies!!! CanJam - how amazing it is to go from JA to CA hand in hand...I can only dream!

THOR, I TOTALLY ordered the wrong notes too! Dang it....I'm going to order them again in Sept - the right way!

Ah MrsP that totally sucks!! I ordered my notes as soon as I noticed I had messed them up bc didn't want to wait 2 months to see what is going on with my filed!

JAMFAM think the magic number for notes (full set not just sponsorship) is 26 pages. Remember to choose Permanent Residence NOT Sponsorship.

LANDING STORY

Hello JamFam,

I am back from Sunny & Hot Jamaica, with my hubby !!! 8)
Hubby and I came back hand in hand from JA to CA. It was a surreal moment having him with me. I kept asking him ' u ok' along the way, and he kept responding ' mi good man' ;)
It was great to share this experience with him 'first time flying' and being able to see his expression for everything and capturing it ( camera).

The flight was smooth ( no turbulence )... So sometimes hubby, forgot he was on the plane :P.
He loved looking out seeing the sun & clouds, and all the city lights at night time. ;D
We drank wine a toasted in the air followed by a kiss :-*

Immigration was a breeze ( we went in together), although they did ask a few questions about him, me, our relationship.... They needed his passport and COPR.

The immigration officer asked ' how was the sponsorship process'... I told him it was toooo long, and they don't communicate with you, nor process in order of receipt which is nerve racking >:(
He said that sometimes when KGN get's busy they send a few of their imm officer's down to help , I stressed that they need to do something about this because I know many ppl waiting ( that would be you guys ;)) The PPR card will arrive in the mail in the next 6-8 weeks
We did his SIN, which only took a few minutes, and collected all his 'welcome to Canada booklets'

Thank you JamFam, for the talks, 'hot topics's, support and info, I will still be checking on you guys :-*

Welcome all newbies, don't be shy to liven up the place with discussion topics, 'hot topic's', pic's, etc.

YAY!!! Welcome to Canada Mr Canjam

It must have been so nice to finally get on a plane with your HUBBY and not have to leave him.

I am wishing you much happiness here and happy that this process is finally over for you!!

Hello!
Me and my husband have been together for 5.5 years and just married this past may. We are about to file our papers for him to come here to Canada.

Hi and welcome!!!

Advice - well set back, relax, grab a drink or two or three because it's going to be a bumpy ride!!!

People are waiting anywhere from 12-20 months. All depends. Some are quicker and others are longer.

It's not an easy process by any means. Can be very stressful, the not knowing or even having any control with this process is mind blowing!! BUT......in the end it will all be worth it when your spouse is here with you.

WE have become a little family here and we are here to support each other. There are new and old forum members on here that can guide you through the process and help with anything that you need help with

Again welcome and let us know if you have any other questions.

I am new and reading through a lot of the messages - can someone tell me how I go about ordering the notes? We filed our application in March of this year so assume I could get notes now? Thanks!

Hi and welcome!!! Are you applying out of the Kingston office? If so give us your details if you wish to share and I can add you to the spreadsheet

How to Order the notes

Here is what another member wrote out on how to get them and also a video that another forum member posted

http://youtu.be/j_E_dq_uLVo

Here is a previous post regarding GCMS notes:

GCMS notes (Global Case Management System) are notes that are made on your file. The Sponsor can order them online or by mail for $5 and the Applicant has to sign a consent form. They take 30 calendar days (sometimes longer) to be sent to the Sponsor once they are ordered.

A lot of people order the GCMS notes if they have been in the process (around a year) and haven't heard anything from Kingston. It is also a good idea to order them if you are scheduled for an interview.

Should you choose to order the notes, here is the link to the CIC website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

Side note: it is entirely possible that the visa officer working on your application may not update the GCMS notes so do not be discouraged if you order them and there is limited information in them

Amazing information. Thank you so much.

We did apply out of Kingston. Application was received March 7, 2014 and sponsorship approved April 9, 2014. That is all I know right now:(

You're welcome and i will add the info for you

Thanks everyone!
I've spent the majority of the evening working on our package.
Here's a couple questions:

How much proof did you include? I have a ton of pictures, phone bills, some joint bills, beneficiary proof, passport stamp pictures.. Wedding invitations, wedding shower documentation..

What did you guys include??

Did you really submit 8 extra photos of your spouse?

Did anyone apply for a child at the same time as well? I am applying for my husband and for his daughter.

Thanks for you help!

Good luck with getting all the paperwork filled out. Make sure that you quadruple check everything and maybe even have a second set of eyes to look it all over. I sent in pictures from the previous 2 years of us being together, wedding pics, travel itineraries, phone records, etc. Others though have said that they sent in the bare minimal. All depends on what your VO is looking for I guess. Yes you need to send 8 pictures. As for the daughter, I am not sure but someone from this helpful JAMFAM will come along to offer some knowledge.
