CAR INSURANCE QUESTION

Does or did anyone's car insurance take into consideration their spouses driving experience from foreign when calculating their premiums.

My insurance guy said they do not. They only care that they are over 25 and have a full Ontario g licence. Which of course means getting a letter from the embassy here verifying their ja licence so that they can skip the g2 stage of graduated licensing. Hope that's helps maybe similar in other provinces.

Agreed; when I cam here as PR I didnt get credited for my previous driving experience; they said they would only do it for US residents.

Mrs. B, they can also get the letter from JA transport authority before they get here, less hassle.

Heath insurance all depends on where you live. In Ontario he has to wait 3 months to get his ohip card. You can apply for it when he lands though. If you have benefits through work you can add him to that though. My husband is on mine at work and he isn't even here yet.

Yea my hubby is on my work insurance too; and it was no problem to add him

YAY!!! Fllight is booked and baby and I are heading to JA for her first birthday!! 28 days will we leave It's been a LONG 9 months without seeing him. This is the longest we've been apart.

So Kingston...now that my flight is booked how about calling/emailing my hubby so he can come home with me. I would really like that and it would be a great birthday present for our princess

Hey yall! Question for you! Husband got a form, and on the bottom there's some info and it says not valid for travel. Anyone else get this? It still has his passport stamped and everything. And visa expire April next year. But can't get a hold of CIC to verify. Anyone help?

The drive test place we went to wouldn't accept the letter from ja transport authority. They required that we go right to the embassy. Don't know why.
