Hope your hubby receives his passport back this week!!

Thanks GreenGurl and JamCam

I honestly have to say that this is the most impatient I have been, since submitting the passport and photos. I look at that DHL site at least 20 times a day, and CIC probably 40 times a day@! In addition to the phone calls that I make to DHL.

I am hopeful it is this week ..................... Lord hear my prayer!

That is great news Sammy Happy to hear there is some movement from Kingston..... when did u recieve this email? where you the one to email them first?

Josephine i hope this is the week the passport is returned for your hubby

On another note , i just booked my trip for next month to go see hubby, i hope he gets ppr soon to return with me .

Thanks Jamwife........... would be nice for your hubby to get PPR now!

Sammy..... About Medical, my husband's medicals were submitted in February 2013, then he had to re-do them in April 2013 and see a specialist and the Immigration Doctor. They gave him an automatic extension of medical (showing in the notes) until July 2014, back in April 2013. His medical was passed with notes that he has an ongoing condition, even although they had not passed his criminality check. I dont think medical is always the last thing to be checked. If it is........ sadly we have been waiting more than a year since his medicals were extended.

your first set of medicals that you did but then had to redo are good for one year so yes April to July 2014 because of the 15 months they actually have (this would not have been an extension of your first medicals). Medicals are not the last thing they do, but the extension on the first set of meds are done at the end. As per the OP manuals, if the only thing holding up the Passport request is that the medicals have expired then the VO is able to ask for an extension. If anything else is still outstanding then an extension will not be given and the applicant will have to redo their medicals with an immigration doctor.

Happy Hump day everyone! Pardon my manners! :)

They haven't been that quiet....I did get an update. :D

They emailed me to let me know that they have requested for our medicals to be extended

for those who don't know...they only ask to extend medicals when everything else on the file has been completed and the applicant has meet eligibility to come to Canada.

it could take a few weeks for them to get word that it has been extended....but this is GREAT news either way.

How long did Kingston take to respond to your email? I have emailed them at least 3times and got no response from them...

Thanks Chickie for answering this....Josephine...my hubbys meds were done Jan 2013 and on my notes said Mar 2013. They have now expired hense the need for them to extend them. So my guess is that your hubby will be here WAY before July 2014 before yours expire :)

They emailed me on Monday to let me know....and yes i emailed them to ask if we would need to redo our meds because they were about to expire. They did take about a month to answer me. So guess they were working on our file in the meantime before they answered me

We haven't received hubby's passport back yet. It has been 2 weeks since he dropped it off so we are expecting a phone call anytime.
It is so bizarre that the last 2 weeks have dragged on but we waited an entire year before he received PPR and for some reason that feels like nothing!

I can only imagine how frustrating it is/will be to see the end in sight and those last few weeks/days feel like an eternity! Hang in there GG!!

I hope you hear something soon. Ours took almost a month to come back to us. We handed it in March 7th DM on the 2nd and passport in hand on the 4th. My husband was in Kingston so he picked it up at DHL

Hi JamFam,

For those of you who have landed , did hubby have to do the biometric (fingerprint), any other pertinent info that hasn't already been shared... Thanks :P

Not sure if you are asking if he had to do anything when he landed in Canada...if that is what you are meaning, no, my husband didn't have to do anything except sign the COPR in front of the immigration officer. They didn't really ask any questions. Wanted to know if he was having anything shipped later, said no and we were on our way. They were really nice.

Yes... Whether just before leaving Jamaica, and immediately upon landing in Canada
Thanks for you answer ;D
