Did you guys know there is an app out for Iphones...if you have one....where you don't need to log into ECAS all the time :)

It's called Canada Status Checker. It pulls everything from ECAS and saves you from logging in.

For the people who have landed.

I heard there is a different form he is to fill out when he lands not like out customs declaration card. Do you know what form that is? It was not stated in the letter he was give. I just have a friend who came with her husband and at the Toronto Airport they were to fill out another form but the customs officer was nice enough to just fill it out for them

Anyone know?

thanks

Here is some information and the B4 form:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-border.asp

http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/b4-eng.pdf

We completed the form and gave it to the immigration officer when my hubby landed; however, many people don't complete it.

Side note: when your hubby fills out the declaration card, he has to put he is a visitor because he is not considered a permanent resident until he goes through the landing process in Canada.

For the second link does my husband have to fill that out if he has never been to Canada or left Jamaica before?

Yes, he needs to list what he is bringing with him into Canada and the approximate Canadian value of the items.

For example:

Computer $800
Clothes $2000
Cell phone $200
Camera $200

Check off the Settler box and put the date he is landing.

Then he needs to sign and date the form.

He will not have to pay any duty/taxes on these items.
