Hello new forum family! Great news to share! My husband got an email to go to an interview 2nd week of March!! Ive heard its approx 10 business days after that and we are approved and good to travel! Hmmm. I was due to go to jamaica in 2 days! Now thinking I should postpone for mid march so im there one time to bring him home :).

Please. Every and anyone advice is welcome family! :o

MrsS make sure he is well prepared for all and any questions that they may ask. I would possibly suggest that he bring extra proof of ongoing relationship with him if he can ie pictures, phone records, letters, travel docs (your trips back, hotels, etc) etc since you applied. Not sure if needed and possibly someone else on this forum may have more insight on this topic but that is how I would approach an interview. Good luck!!!

On a side note I cannot believe that they would make a couple await over a year for an interview!!!

Haha ya! Im thinking I might just still go now if thats the case. Its been over a year since ive seen him! And an extra stamp on the passport wont hurt! Haha. Its a pretty solid relationship so im not worried. im pretty sure I know why they asked for an interview.

As for the timeline. I believe im already added. I would just need to add that interview email was sent today. And our interview is march 12.

If it's not too personal to ask..what do you think was the red flag which made them ask for an interview?

Congrats on the interview date. Hope everything goes well

As for getting the passport back....there have been some forum members that waited a few months after an interview to get their pp back. Not saying this is going to be the case but just wanted you to be prepared. Kingston we all know works in weird and not so wonderful ways.

No worries ! Thanks for all the love guys! I didnt tell any of my family I was getting married. Although everything was cool now, I did add that as part of my application that no family was involved. He was also in the muddle of a work visa application when we got married. Im sure those are some main factors. But hes so involved in my life that the interview is actually good news for us. We we worried that because of the way we got married we would just be denied.

Even in our relationships we consume each other, each of us looking for what we can get out of the other. Our appetites are often satisfied at the expense of those around us. In a dog-eat-dog world we lose part of our humanity.”

Hi Everyone!

I arrived home safe and sound. I had a wonderful time in JM and am so blessed that I was able to spend time with my hubby. This was the first Valentine's Day that we spent together in 5 years and it was amazing. I definitely had all of you in my thoughts as I know how difficult it is to be away from your loved one especially on Valentine's Day. I will have to do some reading to catch up with the forum but congrats to all of those who received news and updates from Kingston.

I just checked our ECAS and we are in Process as of February 14!!!
I don't know how I am going to handle the PPR as just with this update tears are flowing!

Have a great Monday!
welcome back greengurl and congrats on being in process! Awesome news to come back too!

Got locked out of my account because of changes to my computer. Anywho, I am checking in again. Just saying hello to everyone here, those I "know" and those I don't, and wishing everyone well on their journey to settling in Canada together as a family.

It has been just over a year and a half since I landed, and the other day my husband surprised me by booking tickets for us to go back to Jamaica for our anniversary. It will be two years since I have been here when that time comes (not left Canada except for a couple days in NY), so can you say excited? :D

Otherwise, life goes on as is normal: ups and downs, living, loving, and lots of learning to do. Some days I feel like I have a handle on living in Canada, other days I feel like I just got off the plane! Yes, even after a year and a half. So, remember to be patient with each other, to speak kindly and lovingly, and to never forget all that you mean to each other, whether you are in Jamaica or Canada or together in either place.

Have a great night everyone, congrats to all who have news of progress, and here's to wishing more news (speedily!) to all others waiting.
