Hi friends, I'm new to this forum. My visa office is POS. My application was send without an upfront medical and police check. My consultant advise me to wait till the VO request it. Reason is because it expires after a year and my application is not straight forward. Most likely it will expire before the end of the process and might have to redo it. My application has gone through stage 1 and sent to POS since Sept 2013.

Question:
If my file has to be returned to me as incomplete would it be during stage 1 or stage 2? Is there anyone in my boat? I'm hoping that's not the case.

Hey there, my application went in without the medicals because my hubby said he knew other guys that had been through this and that Kingston would call them to go medical when it was time. Well my application got sent back from Mississauga as incomplete at Stage 1 because of the medicals so thank your lucky stars that yours went through without them but another girl from this thread just did the same thing and hers went through also so I have no idea really what is going on now. It leaves me stumped LOL I guess now you just wait for POS to call you to go for the meds. Good luck and come back if you have anymore questions, mine was complicated also!

That is what I don't understand because there is no bring forward date, it scares me but hubby talked to a guy that works for the american embassy and he told him that is because there is nothing they are waiting on anymore so they don't need to put a bring forward date on it, they only usually do that when they are waiting for an answer back regarding something. He told him this is the end for us so there would be no date. That kind of eased my mind a bit.....hoping we get the call this week!

Hubby and I got married in 2012, I notified CRA and filed as married in 2013 even though he wasn't in Canada.

I filed as married.. It won't affect you, because if he's not here , they will list you as seperate until he comes here.. So when I file I just say he's not in the country and I just write a letter and is net income and that's it.

If you file your taxes and your spouse wasn't here by end of December 2013...you can actually have them as a dependant and claim them on your taxes

Nope. I did it last year for my 2012 taxes. Normally I have to pay each year and when I claimed him I got money back. I was surprised!!!
