This is an example of the reason why I cannot sit back and complain everyday about what I am going thru! There is always someone worse off then yourself and this man is an example of being able to overcome and persevere even with the worst possible thing was thrown at him. We all have a time for everything in our lives and God doesn't help you until it is his time! Blessings

Thanks for sharing Chickie; stories like these keeps me thankful and humbled to have God's grace everyday.

I can only tell you my story, but our lawyer told us not to do it until about 6 months in because they expire and it's not likely that Kingston would review our application 6 months in, so I sent in our application, was approved as a sponsor, and then in September we completed both the criminal record check and the medical and sent them in to Kingston. With that being said I don't know if it will negatively impact our processing time

If you don't mind me asking, why did you choose to use a lawyer?

No please ask any questions you have and at least one person on the forum should have an answer for you!

I chose to use a lawyer because I am unfamiliar with the immigration process and felt very overwhelmed in the beginning. My lawyer assisted us in putting our application together so I was confident that everything was done correctly. Using a lawyer will not make CIC process your application sooner, but I felt that if my application was professionally done that my waiting time would be shorter as it wouldn't be returned incomplete and that sufficient evidence would be provided without having them ask for more documentation or have an interview. Our application isn't complicated (both never married before, no kids, no age difference, i lived here with him, both families at our wedding) but we were in a position where we could afford paying for the service and thought that this was a worthy investment.

That being said, we have many forum members who are extremely knowledgeable (I would even say more knowledgeable than most of the lawyers out there) and they are always willing to give free advice to help you through the process :D

Just when I thought I had overcome the urge to speak my mind, the devil stood up and farted. As a woman of colour and a mother of black babies, I find this post quite offensive, on all levels. I try to take the stick out of my ass to see if I am just being uptight but no.. the person who posted this picture with caption is ___________(ok, breathe, 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.....)
Ok I over came that urge to say..still in control.

This is why I sometimes say things that offend people cause i don't know how folks can marry into another race and have no clue to understanding what is racist, or could be construed as such. Some say the men they marry are just not into "their kind" I say thank goodness, followed by a big kiss teeth and question :A whe you a sey?

True beauty comes from within, truth comes out even when we hide our true feelings. Respect is something we can't fabricate, it shines through even in the darkest night. Dedicated to my fans and foes.. As you have exercised your freedom of speech/post so will I... (dedicated to those who object and claim they won't come back because of frankfield's social commentaries.) There are a few folks here who's marriage will grow deeper and deeper. To others the disrespect and disregard for ones identity, and heritage will show in the marriage and you will crash and burn before the ink dry in the passport. good luck!

The big bundle of black wood will cease from warming the frosty hole when men in all they glory begin to understand, and are forced to compete, sleep and kiss dogs... Sue me, or better bring on the temper tantrum.

N.B - black babies are not too bright eh? This is not a joke, just a hidden personal truth coming to the fore.

Lol, frankfield, I knew you wouldn't stay quiet and I'm very glad you didn't. Just to make it clear, I did not create the post, a Jamaican female did. It was then relayed to me via the internet and I have found people either found it hilarious or offensive, as many people find anything that exists in the world today. Being young has nothing to do with the post, as it had women and men between the ages of 20-60 (and from many different racial and cultural backgrounds) laughing uncontrollably.

And if anyone dare tries to get upset with you or even attempts a temper tantrum over you speaking out against a post made, simply because it offends you, then BOO TO THEM! I am the one who posted it in here (even though I am not the originator) and I feel you have every right to speak your mind :D

If you feel to be outraged, by all means, please do express it. This is the internet. It is simply an opinion and as long as you don't make it personal (i.e. assuming that I am a young child - to which I am not - and that is the only reason I found it funny, or that I have not had to raise children myself, because I have), then you should be proud to speak what you feel. I am actually on your side as far as freedom of speech.

Also, please note that all the babies I have had to raise.... NONE were white. I am the only fully white child in my immediate family. Literally everyone from my brothers, to my husband, to my step-father, to my brother's father, to even my olive skinned mother (because her grandfather is black), has a color. So in terms of you perhaps finding it racist, I do apologize.

P.S. KUMBAYAH

yesterday we got the PPR through email and they said they would mail this copy to his address.

They are requesting medical, police record check, schedule A, passport and they gave him 60 days to March 28,2014.

Does that mean the bring forward date is March 28,2014?

yesterday was 14 months on the day it was in Kingston.

Also I got the email at 3:20pm making it 6:20pm in Jamaica.
