I fly into KGN because it's closer (45mins to my husband's house).
I'll check Caribbean Airlines now :)

Check thru SUNWING

yes they usually offer vacation packages - but when their flights aren't full you can get return for about $350...and thats direct!

i have flown with them many times.

as per the Canadian Immigration Website:
Your family member must have medical, criminal and background checks. If they have a criminal record or are a risk to Canada's security, they may not be allowed to enter Canada.

Canada immigration will require criminal checks done from both Jamaica and the United States - which will probably show his time spent incarcerated.

Wishing your friend all the luck in the world.

I also saw this happen watching border security! I wonder if there is a way around it..maybe a well versed lawyer would be the best to deal with the case :)

Senario and question:

A man lived in the United States for a number of years.. He got involved in the drug trade and spent 5 years in prison before he was deported to jamaica. He lives in Jamaica for 12 years and have not attempted to return to the US. What are his chances of getting approved to be here in Canada? Inquiring on behalf of a friend who plans to marry this person in a short time! I told her that when you are 50 years old or over you get to be an ass within and without, this is her turn. At the end of the day I am going to be her friend and support her decision by helping her with information. I reserve my lecture for young folks because of their inexperience...I like being their fairy godmama even if they ask for it or not. I Await your response

here is another good link:

Thanks JW68, she is under the impression that because he has spent 12 year in Ja without any further convictions he is good to enter Canada. Forum, feel free to add any additional info if there is more... I won't speak to her until I am fully informed.. Are there any criminal offence excusable, and if so what are the channels she must go through?

Awesome , you guys could make money doing this... the best immigration consultants around.. sadly because of this long ass process.. Chickie could you send the links inbox. I want to read it to her and may have to search too far back when I am ready...thanks, pretty please! It appears all hope is not gone since there are provisions that entertain the idea of living here despite the crime. Everyone deserve a chance I guess even when they made a mess of their own lives.

When I received my notes the beginning of the month I saw that my meds were good till June 11 2014. Mine were done Jan 18 2013. I also received an email from them, after the lost meds were found, saying they expired Mar 5 2014. So looks like they extended mine past the 15 months too June.

Hope that give you a little insight.

Have you ordered your notes yet?
