Hello JamFam,

I have a quick question...has anyone sent a package over sea's via FedEx? And has anyone had to pay a fee to Jamaica customs? Any feedback would be great!!
Thanks Agin

Be careful when you send things through Fedex to jamaica, things can go missing or the person may not receive it! Just saying, I dnt know if it had happen to none of you guys, bt a friend of mine was to receive a package from overseas and when she got it half her stuff was stolen... Not everybody luck is the same tho!

I have never used Fedex , but I have sent a used cell phone by regular mail. Honestly wasn't sure if it would be stolen as I had to put " used electronic" on the package. At the post office , he ( husband ) had to pay customs- and duty on it. If that helps at all

On another note when your husband landed n he went through immigration did the process take a long time ? What kind of questions do they ask him?

Hi Mrs waitingonforever, packages sent to JA are pretty expensive for the sender unless it's very light and if the package have value, the amount of duty & customs fees that the receiver will have to pay will be important (like you pay it twice). Unless it cannot wait, I strongly recommend that you bring it yourself on your next trip to JA or give it to someone you trust who can bring it for you.

Bam bam.....congrats mrs nev

Hi there LivnKani!!! Yep, you posted correctly, and other than not abusing your fellow members, there is no wrong way to post! Welcome to our forum family and please make yourself at home :D

Are you applying spousal or other?

It's really going to depend on the item and the person he is dealing with on the other end. A friend of mine send a BB to JA for her boyfriend and he had to pay 9000JMD in duties when he went to pick it up. He paid more in duties than what it cost her to buy the phone (it was used).

Oh snap never seen Nev's post :o Wooo hooo Congrats Mrs and Mr. Nev!!!!!! I am soooo happy for you...I cant wait to see other forum fam members post that same thing!!! And I can wait until I can post that too ;D

Nope! That's for sure. And I would NEVER send anything to my husband via regular mail (no signature), because I have tested that out TWICE with just letters and they both have magically gone missing and he never receives them... It's so sad that nobody can be trusted there. It's weird to think that we don't have that problem here.
