Good morning O & O,

Have a wonderful day!

Your welcome DG

I can see that kingston is working. I am hoping and praying for 2012 to get that call from their vo. Someone wrote something about kingston putting your file to the bottom if you get your Mp to contact them and if they also continue to email them. I got my Mp to contact them and i also emailed them and I really do think thats why my husband has his passport with his visa now. Every time my Mp contacted them movements were made on my husbands file. Update my husband is still not here, but for my birthday for sure. Jam fam just keep the faith.

If someone was going to get their MP to reach out - at one point in the process would you do that? after the suggested amount of wait, which is 20 mths? or before?

Also - I'm new to all the lingo...My Ecas is also saying "Application Rec'd" and when I click inside it's mentioning Medicals rec'd...but when I look to the bottom of that page for "what this could mean" it mentions that "medicals rec'd" is only listed under the "Decision is made" category...but there is no way a decision has been made, we just applied... ???... AND notes?? what are notes, why do people get them, does KGN request you get these at some point and I'm just not there yet?

I noticed that... just curious, but I was told that once a Visa is issued, you only have a limited number of days to leave the country before it expires. I have been told this by every person who was issued a visa to Canada. So perhaps you could help me out. What is the number of days you have until it expires? Theirs had varied from 14 days - 30 days.

Hi Ms. Parkin; I will do my best to explain until a more experienced member chimes in :)

Contacting your MP at any stage is really up to you; persons have done it after 6 mths; or after the 20mths; some MPs will say they wont do anything until you have exceeded the average processing time stated by CIC for your region but others are very helpful and will do their best to engage CIC and find out what they can.

Notes are information on your husband's PR application that are either system generated or are entered by an officer or any one that have updated your file electronically. It's refered to as GCMS notes; thats what the system is called that CIC usues (GCMS).

You can order it for $5; as part of the Access to Information Act on behalf of your hubby but he has to signe a consent form; which you attached wt the time of your order.

Not sure why the medicals information is under decision made; maybe that's an error. but for the most part; on the sponsor's side it should say Decision made if you have been approved as a sponor and on hubby side it says Application received and when you click it; it gives application received date and that medicals received.

Hope this helps; I will try and find the link for notes. and add it later

And now to answer my dear Mrs. Ninirae; I am not at this stage.....yet ;)

But from what I understand and have read; you do usually get a timeline to leave; it may even be 60-90 days but it varies; I think persons who get a shorter time than this are those whose medicals are soon to expire and the VO ask them if they can travel before this and therefore gives their visa a very short validity.

I hope this helps :)

Hello JamFam,

You are correct in that the visa will have an expiry date for you to enter Canada... the visa is only valid until the expiry of your medical... so if the VO hasn't extended your medical 1 year from when your medical was done :)

It is great to hear some good news coming out of Kingston
Blessings to you all on this long journey
