Hello Jam Fam

I follow your thread all the time but only chime in once and a while... but just wanted to say I am sad to hear a few family members are going to leave this wonderful family
Most days you are all upbeat.... and I can honestly say it is very hard for people that have been waiting a long time and then hear news of people that have applied after them get through the process in so much less time. I think it is just human nature to be envious... no ill will intended....

I am happy to hear news of people finishing with this torment the government has imposed on us trying to reunite with our loved ones

I can completely understand everyone's frustration
Chickie and Yolo remember there are lots of people here that look to you both for inspiration and knowledge... this is not an easy process to go through... Stick around you both provide valued information

Congrats Yolo on being able to adopt those children
Chickie... your day is coming soon... keep the faith.

Love to all the Jam Fam :)

@ Yolo and Chickie:

I really sincerely hope that neither of you leave. I know I have not been around that long, but I know that both of you are valued on this forum. Yolo your story is very touching and I think it's amazing that you and your husband are opening your hearts and home to adopt 2 children who lost their parents. I would love to hear how the rest unfolds and read about the children's landing story. Plus you bring valuable experience for someone down the road who may go through the same type of process.

Chickie, you are a pillar of strength on this board and your experience and wisdom is always appreciated. I can understand how Yolo may have misunderstood your comment and taken it negatively, even though I'm positive that you did not mean it that way. Just another prime example of how written words can easily be misunderstood.

Cheers to positivity and forgiving/forgetting.

C'MON KINGSTON !!!

Give us a few PPRs today to pick up the mood in here. It's September, back to school, back to work, and back to cranking out those golden tickets for reuniting families!!

+1.

I think its easy to get lost in the difficulty of this process. While we all signed up for this when we made the decision to marry someone from another Country.....whether they lived in Canada at the time of the marriage or not. I myself spent this past weekend with my cousin who is more like my sister and found myself angry at her for an innocent comment she made regarding her own marriage. She simply said that she is looking forward to her husband going away for a week so that she could have some time without him......I was thinking to myself geez, all I want to have my husband here with me and you can't wait to get rid of yours!?

While we all want to believe that Kingston processes applications on order of receipt, we all know that isn't how it happens - lord only knows how they do it......but that doesn't mean that it hurts any less to see someone who applied after us get through first. I don't believe that any of us wish any ill on those who get through in a short time, but we would all be lying if we said we weren't a bit envious!

Chickie, your words have lifted my spirits many times through my short time in this process so far.

Yolo, your story is so touching......my husband & I have considered adopting his young cousin as her mother passed when she was 2 and have been raised to this point by my mother in law.

I hope that neither of you leave, we all have something to contribute, but we also have to remember that we all have rough days!

Let's hope that Kingston starts working hard to get all of our applications processed before Christmas!

It grieves my heart to see two women who I come to admire and consider friends at the center of this misunderstanding. ..please siber hug it out n continue to support this forum that has brought many of us through some very rough days.....this forum needs to continue strong and continue to function as a family. ...my sisters n brothers stop allowing the devil to break what we all have worked so hard to build....as for those who are lurking in the background sending negative inbox messages really dont u think its time to grow up....stop taking ur frustration out on people who dont trouble you. ...I read some of dem messages not kool keep strong kingston family better must come one day

Okay so I am now going to take that as a personal attack against myself as I was the only one that replied to you before you came and messaged on there. I was only asking a question no need to take offense, this place was made for people to come and discuss their issues and problems and triumphs. Don't remove yourself as I am removing myself. This is twice now I have take backlash over something i have said so obviously waiting around for 18 months has made me into a negative person and all I tried to do is help and answer peoples questions. This process makes you negative, I am sorry to say.......i have lost my spirit, my faith in God and faith in this whole process and my marriage.

Kadi the spreadsheet is yours. Take care, to those of the members that I call friends......i know how to reach you and I will! Good luck and blessings to you all.

Chickie. You are one of the members of this place that provide the less experienced members with so much support and information. Please don't lose faith. That's what they want you to do! If you lose faith, they win.

I hope you re consider.

Much love always
D.

Wrote Montego Bay office this morning here was what they wrote back this afternoon.

The application was received by the High Commission on the following business day August 5th. There is currently a backlog of summer applicants which we presume has resulted in the delays you are experiencing. The High Commission is working on this situation and we are therefore unable to give any further updates beyond what is available on the website.

Yes you can do it at the VAC and its $85 on top of the $75 application fee. They will give you a little card with the kingston account to where to deposit the money. Once you go to scotia they will give you 2 receipts both go with the application.

Does anyone know the reason the email dosent work for Kingston now? Can anyone please post a
Rworking email for the embassy

Sorry to hear that Carm; but as you say back to work; and hopefully you hear positive news soon. :)

I agree with the backlog because they have my friends's passport since June waiting on a TRV and she has heard nothing.

For all this money that Canadian High Comm is charging for visa processing they are lacking in efficiency and professionalism.
