oh i got a quick question cuz im curious... if u are requested for an interview... who does it? jamaican government officials... ? or Canadian governement officials..? does anyone have experience with the interview and how intense it is???

The interviews are conducted by Canadian visa officers at the High Commission in Kingston.

Mrs. Reckford's timeline is under her name. She applied October 29, 2012 and KG requested her hubby's passport on Aug 19, 2013 so in total it took approximately ten months (by the time her hubby's passport is returned).

Yes about 10 months. I don't understand y some people wait so long either. I pray for everyone going through this process that they will hear from Kingston soon!

ya i dont understand why some takes so long..... i have been reading some have been with their husbands for years before they actually got married.. how much more genuine can u get....

Some have to deal with being deported from Canada already. Or overstaying their temporary resident visa, some have sponsored multiple people, for example children. Some have lived or visited other countries before. So they also need to check their background in those counties. Some people have submitted answers on their application that doesn't match up with the research they have done. Most of us have "passed" the interview stage and are not being questioned on how genuine the relationship is but it's something else that's holding us up. Also. You have to take into account that kingston is probably dragging their feet, with regards to this strike. But most of all don't forget, they ARE in Jamaica, and most likely operating on island time haha

Hi everyone. So my husband got the call Monday. I checked the status of our file Monday and there wasno change. Checked yesterday and it changed to in process as go Aug. 16, which was Friday, they don't work over the weekend and they called him Monday afternoon requesting his passport and flight itinerary be sent in immediately so he can be out of Jamaica befor sept.24. Seems they don't update the statuses of our files often or correctly. But I feel blessed. Only 11more days until I'm with my husband for good!

Congratulations Mrs. Reckford! you have given me hope that Kingston is willing to throw us a bone every now and again and that I could possible have my husband with me sooner than the 2 years i'm planning for. I'll be leaving for Montego Bay tomorrow to spend a few weeks with the husband so i better get off the forum and go pack my suitcases. I hope to see more PPRs for our long time applicants when i get back!

I just got approved for Christmas holidays to go see hubby but if he is here then we are going somewhere for christmas together either way its a win win feeling better today talked to hubby for a couple of hours last night n some tears on my part. I dont know why yesterday was harder for me but I am back on top today. Got a wake up call this morning full of love ;D

I stil am praying that we hear about the visiting visa this week or early next week. I already told my boss I may take friday off to meet him. Fingers crossed I need next friday off
