Hello good day VO fam...I have a some what silly question...will the applicant or sponsor hear the result of the decision first? PR application?

Hi guys,

Question: How does the medical extension work? My husband's meds r gonna expire in about a week. So would we have to redo it?

it up to the immigration officer if they will give you an extension on your medical.....so officers let you know that they extended the medical and some wont tell you at all....what i would advice you is to email them and ask them if you should redo them or if they will give you an extension on it...my medical and police record expired from last year and i email them and they told me that they will let me know when to do it but since i have an interview coming up, im just going to take the chance and do everything on my own before i go to the interview...when my interview is finish i will let them know that i redid them over on my own.....so it really up to you though. some ppl do it on there own and some just wait until the tell them to go and redo them. i hope this help my friend

The primary applicant is the one that would hear the result of the decision first.....the only time the sponsor hears the decision first is for the Sponsor approval that is in Mississauga. Also to add to this.....the tracker for the DHL will help tell you were your passport is and also the ECAS is a good way to track it because once they stamp your passport and send it out, then your ECAS will usually change to decision made also and the address for the primary applicant will change too.

Just something that I have noticed........the meds extension can take up to two to three months to register where as if you do the meds yourself they will get them within one month and then at least they will be on your file already.......just my own personal thought!

It might be just me but I don't think this forum has had any "action" from KGN since April?
Boo! Come on KGN stop dragging your feet!! We love you!

Also. How typical is it that they ask for the imm5669 form when it comes time for the ppr? How common is this?

Here is what happened in my case:

Hubby's police certificate expired on Dec 31, 2012 and his medical on January 9, 2013. I sent an email to KG asking them if he should re-do them. They emailed me back in February and instructed my hubby to re-do his police certificate and informed us they requested an extension on his medicals. They also sent a letter to hubby in the mail requesting the police certificate. I followed up with KG after hubby dropped off his police certificate and they confirmed they received it and got the extension results from Ottawa. At this point we were very hopeful that the end of our immigration journey was in sight because it states on the CIC website that medical extensions should only be requested if it's the last thing the visa officer is waiting on to make a final decision. And here we are four months later...

It does seem like that doesn't it Danielle? :P There have been a few updates for our little forum family. We need to thank our lucky stars that Kingston is still hard at work and it doesn't seem like the strike is affecting them. Whew! *wipes brow*

Last year Jamgirl mentioned that our little famjam only represents 2% of all of the applications in Kingston and I'm sure that statistic hasn't changed much. So even though it may seem like there's not much happening for us, there's something happening for someone somewhere. And I truly believe some people are going to hear news from KG this week! :D Hold the faith, my girl! Each day that passes brings us all one day closer to being reunited with our significant others.

IMM5669 - it seems within the last year this form has been requested for anyone that passes the one year mark. And it's not only KG, it seems a lot of visa offices are requesting it to be completed again so it must be a new requirement.

Nev you are such a positive woman throughout this process. I really wish that I had your spirit right now.
