Is it an ABSOLUTE requirement to do fingerprinting and RCMP check? I hope you can bypass all that and get a call for passport. ::)

if you lived in Canada for over 6 months unfortunately it is a absolute requirement.

Hey Tin Tin how are you? From what I understand based on the guideline, the 6 month rule applies to all countries other than Canada. For those who have resided in Canada for any period of time, the overseas office will do a CPIC check to see if you or someone with a similar name/age has a record. If there is no record, then they will not request your fingerprints. However, I'm not famaliar with the intimate details of Chickie's application so am not familiar with the processes for her situation.

Chickie

Nuff congrats girl. You're near the finishing line so just keep the faith going. One less thing to worry about. Kingston, you're working!!! Work even harder especially for those waiting so very long. Kudos to you Chickie.

Ohh ok. My husband lived in Canada for 5 years so I guess that's why they needed full fingerprints.

Hey Fullmoon, how are you doing/ How is hubby? Trust he's still settling in nicely and not yet homesick even though with you at his side, he might not be as he has other focus right now. Trust all is well. Take care. Have a great weekend and hope it won't be a WEAK end but a STRONG end!!!

It could possibly be that when they did their CPIC search, there was someone else with similar info and only way they can verify is through fingerprinting.

Nonetheless Tintin, how long does it take for them to process the ARC? I hope you get word real soon.

I don't know. I'm still here waiting. They still have his passport after 6 weeks and so far it's been three months since the ARC request.

He isn't homesick ....yet. LOL. He's been keeping busy and with his new job will be even busier!

Have you heard anything from KG?

that is the same thing that I heard so I am hoping his name don't register under anyone else....I know he don't have a criminal record up here so we are good on that one and he was never ran thru CPIC so we are good on that one!
