our application got send back to use due to missing medicals and one form was incorrect so it wasn't until September that it got sent back in....when i originally sent in my application February 29th.....the wait was 55 days and then it kept going up and up until it got to 98 days for sponsorship approval so that was another delay also...Kingston finally got my app in October so that is why the wait is so long......but a so it goes! :)

Chickie72,

When your application was returned were you able to stil log onto Ecas? Were you notified that there was missing information from you file prior to them returning it?

I STILL cannot log on!!!!!! >:(

Question: Additional Document Request...what sort of information is requested?

Hello Forum!

chickie I have a question. Please don't mind my complete ignorance when it comes to deportation/ARC/exclusion order/all that jazz... I didn't have to deal with that and therefore I haven't paid complete attention to that, BUT...

I thought I read somewhere that if your hubby left Canada at the first request and did not get "deported" then if you waited a year, you would not have to pay ARC?? I may be completely off or have some details confused... So if what I am thinking is somewhat true, then does the one year have to happen before you apply or can it be one full year including part of application process but complete before the time they have approved hubby but before requesting ARC?? DId that make sense lol ???

maybe wishful thinking on my part or maybe something to look into further? Just trying to be helpful...

This we learned all since he has been down in JA and i wish we had known this all before.....when he originally applied for the refugee he was made to sign a form that automatically is a departure order......they put this departure order on hold until the refugee application is complete. (we were not together at this time) When his application for refugee was denied, his departure order came into effect and he was supposed to leave the country at this time (no one told us this), they handed him another application at the interview and said that if he wanted to he would apply for the PRRA and further plead his case (kind of like an appeal) so we filled that out and sent it back in and within 3 months they got back to us saying this was denied also and he had 1 month to leave. This now made his departure order turn into a deportation order-even though we paid for his flight and he left before the 30days. If he had left after the refugee was denied we would not have to do the ARC. The departure order turning into a deportation order put a lifetime ban on him returning to Canada-this is where the ARC comes in.....we pay the $400 fee and he writes a letter to Canada Immigration to plead his case as to why he thinks they should let him back in Canada. They can either agree to let him come back or they can deny him.

OK that makes sense. sorry, just had bits and pieces in my head and was trying to be hopeful.

I think having a clear view of your timeline and being very realistic can make a huge difference in how you handle this process. Good luck to you chickie.

Thats true Jamgirl
Cause my hubby was not deported, left when he was told to,paid his own ticket, and stayed in ja until the year expired and he wasnot asked for ARC and did not have to pay the fee

I was never able to log into ECAS the entire time of my sponsor approval-they had the wrong birthdate for me so now when I log on i have to use the date they have me down as. Contact the webmaster to get help on your ECAS problem....that is what i did and they are the ones that told me to log in with the year that CIC had put down for me as my DOB

I was able to log in 9 days ago with the correct information. Webmaster is not the one who is fixing my problem as per CIC. I had to provide a list of information and two screen shots of where I cannot log into and send that to Questions@cic.gc.ca. The turn around time is 20 days. ::)

This better be the right department. I will contact them tomorrow and confirm the details. I find it funny that this happened right after they updated me to my husbands representative.
