It is a built in reminder to look at your file...

For those of you that have ordered your notes, you will see that on or before the date of your sponsorship approval the officer in Mississauga did a set up in the system for your security, criminality and eligibility checks. Now, these checks weren't started in Mississauga, they will be started when the officer gets to them in Kingston, but they are initiated in the computer from Mississauga. Anyways, if you look at the notes, you will see that there is an expiry date for these checks (aka bring forward date).

june..........it took about six months for my approval..........kingston got my file on june 26

At least you were flying for a while until I burst your bubble! Your sponsorship approval process was messed up and it should have been completed wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy before June. I hope you and wifey hear something from Kingston soon, Maddants.

I read back on your story... it sounds like there is a possibility that you were approved before June but that is when you found out about the approval. To truly know, you could order your notes. Order your notes when you just can't take it anymore because the sooner you order them, the less info they will include.

Think positive. You may have found out in June, but I betcha your wife was approved as sponsor before June!!

Moonie, what are your feelings/thoughts of when an interview is scheduled? I know they can ask for one at any point in the process but do you think if we've gone this far without one that they would still request one?

Interviews to determine the bona fides of the relationship are normally requested in the preliminary review stages (in other words) early on. Only when this criteria is satisfied, would the file move on to the next stages of processing (background, security) and there are several levels of security checks. IF an interview is requested at the latter stages, it would likely be related to a security concern but other wise you are in the clear. They may however before final sign off request additional proofs showing the continuing of the relationship subsequent to the application submission date. Hope this helps.

Hey Halfmoon! My Saturday has been good so far - thanks!!

My bundle of joy is now 7 months old. Hubby applied for a TRV so he could witness the birth of our lil one and of course he was denied. it was extremely hard on him because this is his only child. We weren't allowed to video tape the birth so my friend and my sister had him on the phone while I was giving birth so he could hear what was going on lol.
