nuh..I'm the sponsor...my hubby is the applicant...immigration has basically consummed us for the last 1.5 years...started with TRV..which was denied due to lack of ties in Jamaica for him to return....then it was the whole scam with the immigration consultant...very bad idea and very big(& costly) mistake...that application was stopped before it got too far...then we did it the right way..by ourselves..so close now but the closer we get the more impatient i become..

There have been a few of us that applied for the TRV and were denied for same reason, myself included. Sorry to hear about the consultant. It is a shame that not all of us find this forum before we apply (myself included again). There is a lot of good info shared here and a great place to ask questions and receive good answers.

Good afternoon forum family
Hoping someone can give me so insight on a problem I am having right now with Kgn
A few days ago my husband received a call from someone claiming to be from the embassy
Stating that they wanted to ensure that they had the correct contact information for him
They asked him for his full name D.O.B, file number emailed to us from Mississauga , UCI # and to reconfirm his telephone #

A couple of things have me on alert with that (maybe I am being parro I don’t know but still)
1. They already sent him an email request for interview (so why call to confirm contact info)
2. The UCI # gives access to my information – everything that has to be about me
3. He was issued his own #BY Kgn –so why call and ask to confirm my info


My husband recalled the number that called him and it was indeed the Canadian embassy in kgn
But I am curious as to why they would call only for that reason. In following with my curiosity about them calling he contacted the embassy yesterday and they told him to have me send and email expressing my concerns and fear. I have a problem with that because I here that kgn rarely answers emails and when they do it is usually the same don’t call us we will call you bs that they let off on everyone .

Sigh I am soo confused has anyone ever heard of anything like that before

It is not unheard of, RFMO, I don't think there is anything to worry about. Since your hubby is scheduled for an interview, they might be confirming that they are able to contact him (in case of anything on the interview day or before in case there is a change of date). Additionally, confirming your information allows them to establish that he is aware of your side of the information provided on the application (this is a good thing that he was able to provide that for them).

I would encourage you to go ahead and send the email about your concerns. Why? Because it leaves a paper trail. When dealing with government offices, you always want to document any actions that cause concern or seem out of the ordinary way of doing things. Simply explain that having provided all relevant information on the application, you were surprised and concerned that they needed to contact your husband to provide them again but you hope that everything provided was adequate. You are both happy to assist them in future if there is anything else that arises, and thank them for letting him know you could send the email to them. (You want to keep it concerned but non-adversarial, hence the offer to continue to assist them if they need anything else, and politely thanking them for "letting" you email them about it.)

What I do is send my husband credit thru the digicel website which has full listings on all the time I've sent him credit. So its a good idea to send credit thru the digicel website

I do the same and you can print out all the times you put money on his phone!

may be a silly question but is this the Kingston thread? wondering how long it will take for my husband to receive his passport & visa? The embassy requested his passport with return airway bill...it was sent 15 business days ago..how much longer do we have to wait for it? can he travel right away?

I think sometime it takes longer mine is there 27 days now and i am still waiting

Good Morning and Congratulations Buttons!!!!! This is just the kind of good news I need to see first thing in the morning! 3 years seems like such a long time, but in the bigger picture of life and the future in front of you both now, it really is a small matter of time. Always in hindsight though. lol

This October will be 3 years of being together and 2 years of marriage for my hubby and I and like many of us here, I feel like it's taking FOREVER!!! However reading your post this morning inspired me with more hope to carry on with even more certainty that this waiting will eventually come to an end....and soon! By the time we get together these 3 years apart will be nothing. As well, we will feel confident that our relathionship has been thoroughly tried and tested, and we made it through like soldiers!! Ha ha!!

I don't know about the other here but bwoy....mi feel like after this, there's nothing that we can't do!
