ALL,
For those who have received notive to send in their passports, how did VO contact your spouse to let them know to send it in?

FLK, since I have been here, KG has called 95% of the spouses to submit their passports. I know of one spouse who received a letter asking him to submit his passport recently (this year). Most have been telephoned, though.

Morning everyone,
we received our PPR via mail. All a long we were waiting for a phone call but nope they sent it by mail and it just delayed everything at that time.
All i can say is check your mailbox weekly cause u never know

Thanks CharlieD and BIYTC. I will tell hubby to be diligent with checking the Post Office. Such a pain dealing with JPS.

Thank you CharlieD what if u spouse was refused a visa before and didnt put that he wud visit u in canada cud that affect the application im just inquiring all the information

A number of spouses here were refused TRVs, including myself. It did not have a negative impact on the PR application. It could have some impact that your spouse did not reveal he was intending to visit you when he applied for the TRV, based on the information in both applications it may cause them to convoke your spouse to an interview. On the other hand, it might not. They will cross-check the information on both applications and decide if there is anything they need to clarify.

For example, suppose you put that you were engaged in 2011 on the PR application, and he applied for the TRV after the date you gave for the engagement and did not mention his fiancee is in Canada on the TRV application. They would consider that material and probably ask questions. This is just an example, it is for KG to look at your applications and decide.

Re: Kingston,Jamaica (passport request)

I have most of the forums and i realize that some persons have waiting for some very long time for CIC, i submitted my medical on May 25, 2012 and i have been waiting since. I will definately keep you guys posted with my timeline as time goes by. hope to hear from persons with my timeline soon.

As for us, kgn called my husband for the ppr personally. He never received any communications from them by email only I did. Also, my hubs applied for a trv in 2009, didn't state he was coming to visit me because his grandparents wrote the invitation letter, but we declared it on our app, and just explained he was going to surprise me with a visit if he got thru with visa. LOL they denied him anyway without interview. So it didn't affect our sponsorship at all.
