To be honest, we haven't been so focused on the time; almost sad to say but it's like we've gotten so used to our routine of daily phone calls and life in 2 different countries and the every 3 month trip to JA. lol. But since I got the approval email the other day, we're now both wondering what next????? Pretty exciting actually. I always say in life, enjoy the ride cuz we WILL get to our destinations. Makes the journey that much sweeter. Thanks for being the only one up so late responding to my messages. I really should be in bed getting ready for work but I've been reading this forum for months now and finally decided I'd join to share in on the experience.

I'm wishing the best for all who are going through this; and as my husband always says, nothing ever happens before it's time(as you would also relate, Jamaicans have a saying for everything) .....funny though he says that but his suitcase is already packed? Humor and lots of laughter makes this time in our lives so much easier. Focus on love, stand up in the face of doubt and fear and believing is everything. Jamgirl - I just signed up for the E-cas tracker however just wanted to know how secure it is? the service is not provided by CIC and rather an individual by the name of Matthew....

yes it is a guy who went through the immigration process himself and so created the program to stop the mad craving to check your e-cas every 5 mins lol. It is your discretion to use it or not, many do, and others do choose not to. I'm not sure who in our forum is or isn't using it but to the few I have talked to have never had a problem. No problem for the late night questions. I am working a night shift right now anyways so this is great for me, helps me stay awake.... No Busy on this night shift

Welcome to Halfmoon, stick around and keep that positive vibe! As for what's next now that you're approved and your file is at KG, well, it's mostly a lot of silence and then a flurry of activity when you get to the end. I used the eCAS tracker, by the way. KG had a funny way of updating my file, I never got "medicals received" or "decision made", LOL, it went straight from "in process" (after 9 months of waiting) to updating that I was landed, which was more than a month after I received my visa.

Thanks, Jamgirl, for the good wishes on my first Canada Day. We had a quiet, almost solemn one here in Elliot Lake, all events were cancelled, and I only saw fireworks from one house and it was quickly over. Still, hubby made a nice dinner and we toasted Canada's birthday with Canadian beer, LOL.

Ready, welcome back from your visit. I know it was hard to leave, but I hope the time together has buoyed you up for the next phase of waiting.

Hang in there, everyone still waiting. There's a thread posted about the size of the backlogs at the various visa offices, and KG has the 8th largest number of spousal/dependent files on "slow down" currently (2,147 files). Still, this doesn't mean they aren't working hard on them, so I'm not saying this for anyone to despair, just so you know there is a real reason for any delays you might experience right now.

update on my file ...... staus has changed from application recieved to decsion made I guess i should not be too excited since i knew that I had already been approved as a sponsor, but damn it i am after waiting so long to hear something i am glad for every update i get. Question whats how will i know that kgn is working on my file? ....

Halfmoon welcome...You have a great attitude..I too became accustom to life separated, phone calls and trips home. Me & my kids went all summer up until last september. I just accepted things, so did he although it was very very hard, and when we filed end of last november, we were expecting up to 2 yr wait..very very true that nothing happens before its time, we ended up getting thru very fast, and he wasnt even ready to leave by time we got thru, so in retrospect, it was better to just relax, not have any anxiety and let things just roll out as they happen...Good luck to you!

I can only sign in with my information not his so i know it is decision made on my end .... my question was what will my staus say when kgn has there hands on it, will i stillbe able to sign in on my name or will i have to use his?

Good morning everyone!!! I havent posted for a while but i chk the site almost everyday.
Congrats to everyone who has received updates, even if it isnt a ppr its still nice to see some sort of movement.
Im loving this hot weather we have been having lately but mr proper hates it! Can you believe the man would rather cold and snow lol
He got his u.s visa about 2 weeks ago and we went across the border for a quick stop at the airport to drop his cousin off, she came for a visit for 2 weeks. He said it felt so good to be able to say hes been in the u.s. Hes going to be leaving soon tho to work on the big ships that pick up coal and such soon. my dad has been doing it for over 30 yrs so hes following in his footsteps. its great money but i must say im gonna miss him being home every night

To everyone else whos been having a hard time not being close to your loved one, jus remember that it to shall pass, once they are here you will forget all the wait and tears that you cried. Me and mr proper went thro alot with immigration and got screwed around so much by the doctor that did his meds, and at one point i thought he was never gonna get here. 10 mths seemed like a lifetime but when i look at it now i think to myself, we waited 5 yrs to be together whats 10 mths??!! We also went thro some very hard times when he first got here. me being the control freak and him not used to living this life of work, responsibilities and priorities. but we have overcome alot and i can say we both are used to it and finally into the groove of things. Marriage isnt perfect and it wont be all roses everyday but with communication and dedication you can get thro anything. we said to ourselves we were 5 yrs apart and got thro it so we will get thro whatever we were going thro at the time. Its so nice to spend family time together. last week we took the kids to great wolf lodge in the falls for the night and we had a blast. I cant wait to book our first vacation as a family soon.

Anyways i hope everyone is doing well and i hope to read some more updates real soon!!!

Hey my Kingston family,

I wrote to the Kingston office to ask a question regarding the decision letter they sent. See our system in the Bahamas is a little screwed. If you miss the po box or anything pertaining to your address, you wont get the mail and they system does not show my po box. Also it takes weeks on end to get mail. (let's just say our local mail can be weeks late).

In any event I asked them if they knew if the letter was sent to my po box and explained the situation and they replied back and said that "Application is still intransit to our office from Canada."

Ok so does this mean that I am approved??????????? Will they send my application to Kingston if I am not??

Anybody have an answer!

Dying for some news (great news preferably)

No worries, blondie1216, if the application is on its way to KG, and you didn't select "Process anyway if I am found ineligible to sponsor" then all is well and you are in the line!

Hey Mrs P! Shout Mr P for me. ;D Tell him I agree with him, LOL, rather the cold and snow than the heat. Although, I have to say we have had some fine, hot days up here in E.L. A nice breeze made everything so great, even with the temps in mid-30s. I cannot complain about the heat here at all.

it says decision made and that a letter was sent on the 27th of June. i wish i had gotten an email approval like u! But I will settle for knowing my application is on its way to Kingston. ;D
