Mrslwsn, the files will be transferred to CPP-Ottawa and then sent via diplomatic courier to KG, hence the 10-14 days timeline between sponsor approval and arrival in KG. Grab a book, some music and a chair, you are officially on the waiting list.

Let's go, KG, still got a couple folks waiting for you to sort yourselves out on finalizing their files, get a move on! Well I just got an email from Kingston stating that our application is complete and they returned his passport back via courier....

Um now we just have to find out where they sent it as the DHL tracking number we were given says "no result for your query""

Oh lawd I can only laugh out loud

RG...I am so sorry your having so much trouble girl!! I truely hope this all sorts out so you can be reunited with hubby. Knowing that you have experienced a bit of the life I experienced...it makes the seperation which is already hard, so much harder because you've gotten a taste! Not that its less hard for anyone else...but I think you understand what I mean. Keeping you in my prayers...hope you find those passports soon...looking forward to your landing story!!

Welllllllll....things here are good. Its a bit rough starting from scratch..but hubby is working...and because its slow season and his one job, he's applying for another one that is extremly high paying...so crossing my fingers because that would really put our family back on track. Little one started in kindergarten and is the little diva IT girl in her class!! She's having the time of her life!! I'm getting stuff in line to go back to school for two years...but luckily the college offers programs to accomodate moms...I just have to work a bit harder which is fine by me.

Today we got bank accounts sorted out, health care, and filled out the stuff for his SIN number, now just gotta take it in. So things are coming together.

Its hard, withdrawals from my Jamaican home are a big issue for both hubby and I...but we are thankful for our new life...and we are excited to see the possibilities starting to become realities!! So we focus on that...and that is exciting.

We've all hated but adapted to the cold very quickly. I should say hubby and I..the little one loved the snow from the get go!!

Anyways hope all is well...will check back for more updates!! GO KINGSTON GO!!

Afternoon/evening folks! Hey SQ, yes today is jahlove's landing day! Woot, another one to cross off the list!

RG, if your husband has a US visa, he should have no issues transiting through the US. If he does not have a US visa, he will need a transit visa even for a layover flight, all foreign nationals transiting through the US are required to clear Customs and Immigration there.

Has anyone had to include ano ARC w/ their application? Did you include it with your application or did you wait until Kingston requested it. I just found out after speaking w/ CIC that even though my husband left Canada at the time he was given he is still considered deported as he left after the PRAA. If he had left when his refugee was denied then it would of been a departure.

Tintin79 - There have been a number of persons on the list who needed ARC. What happens with a PR applicant is that they do not separately apply for ARC, rather the IO assessing their application deals with the need for ARC as part of the processing of the application. If your husband is approved for ARC, you will be asked to pay the fee. See this link here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/inadmissibility/arc.asp

Also, there is nothing on the KG website about an application form for an ARC, so you have to wait until the IO assesses your husband's application to be told whether he needs it. See here from the London VO website:

"If you are making another immigration application, such as a work, student or permanent residence application, you should not submit a separate application for an ARC. If your immigration application is approved, the authorisation to return to Canada will be dealt with in the context of that application. You will simply be asked to submit the fee for the ARC.

Please note that the fee paid for this service cannot be reimbursed in the event of a negative decision.

You should be aware that if the Government of Canada incurred removal costs in removing you from the country you must reimburse the Government before an ARC will be issued. If this is the case you will be advised once your application is in process."

RG, DHL is on their way, you need to have those plans wrapped!

Good morning Kinston forum family!!

Hubby is on his way to pick up his passport from DHL in MoBay,,,

I can't believe it I think I'm in shock part of me thinks there will be a letter that says "sorry we ran out of Visas please try again " in his passport lol

He is coming home Sunday and I am all ready thank god I work all weekend right to 2 hours before he lands and I am 2 hours from the airport so I will keep busy!
