It's very quiet in my part of Kingston today, and I hope it continues like that. Some incidents are being reported here and there, and I hope swift action by the police quells anything before they get out of hand. Just need to exercise your franchise and move on, that's all folks!

Hey people i'm new here and have some questions that i'm hoping i could get some answers ,i applied for my pr in june i got my call last week friday the 16 of december,i brought in my passport and pay my airway bill took them to the embassy, the lady only asked for my passport and said they will contact me withen the next too weeks,i was expecting an interview though that didn't happened,so i'm worrying if when i get back my passport if i'll have my pr stamped or what

@oniel did they told you anything about a dt ate as to when you will get your pp back or if you need to bring any other docs?

no just that they will contact me in the next 2 weeks,we did all the paper work and sent them in in june medical as well,on the cic site it says "A decision has been made on ONEIL application. The office will contact ONEIL concerning this decision"
so i'm just wondering

i dont think that you have anything to worry about, by the sounds of you received a PPR call so the next call from them should be to pick of you passport with your visa stamped in it

Mrs. P, no news. And like they used to say in Fraggle Rock, no g-news is good g-news! LOL. Just here, waiting it out together for the holidays and then we'll have to see what 2012 brings.

Oneil - why were you expecting an interview, were you advised you were being convoked for one? If you were not previously advised of being convoked to an interview, and your passport has been requested, it should be good news and your PR is not far around the bend. Keep your phone close over the next couple of weeks!

some friends and family told me that normally u will get an interview so i had my mind set on that and because i wasn't told to get one,i was wondering if something was wrong,and thanks people its good to know that i'll be leaving soon

No. An interview is convoked so that the immigration officer can clarify issues arising from the documentation and information presented on an application. Sometimes you may get a "procedural fairness" letter, instead of an interview, advising you that information/documents you have submitted may be in violation of a section of the Immigration Act, and inviting you to submit a response. Neither of these things is standard procedure, they are procedures to address shortfalls in an application. If they take no issues with your application, the processing is finalized without an interview and your passport requested. You are looking good so far.
