Yea SQ I totally understand how you feel..I am a J'can and I feel more at home in Ja, even though I came to Canada at the age of 11...All my fam is there, I am happiest when I am there, and now being apart from my best friend/husband and my mother in law who is closest thing to a real mom I have ever had is very hard, and it's true this is why I also want my husband to have papers for Canada, so he is free as I am to move about and what not, but the good thing is, you were at least able to be with your husband through this journey, and if it doesnt work out in Canada then you have the freedom to move back or go and come, which is great. You and your family are inspirational and it will all be for the best. Jamaica will always be my home, by birth, in my heart and soul. You will carry it too in yours.. God Bless.

@SQ i really feel your pain.especially with ur grandmom.but with the help of god i hope things work out for you in the best way.I am enjoing jamaica but i am just a person who love to work and it seems like there is nothing since i get back,i am financially stable her but not having my wife around its just not the same i dont even enjoing waking up anymore not knowing im not laying besides her and wake up to her.but i pray some day it will get better.

Good afternoon everyone!

Melmel, there you are! I have been wondering how things are going with you prepping your application. In most cases, it takes at least 2-3 months, sometimes more depending on the applicant's history, to gather all the information and documentation needed to form a sound, coherent application. You don't want to rush anything, take your time filling out the forms and print and sign only when you have reviewed a "draft" copy of the forms. In my case, I took 5 months to get everything ready, including 2 months allowed for getting my FBI report back, and one month at the beginning where I was just reading and familiarizing myself with the process and getting information from the helpful folks here.

When you say you have all the papers, do you mean they are prepared already, or do you mean you have blanks to get ready? If you mean blanks, then I suggest you bring a "draft" set for your husband to fill out his information on the applicant's forms, and then you guys can go over everything together. Oh, and sit down and read the sponsorship agreement together. It is a serious document and you should both understand your responsibilities under it.

I hope everyone is not stressing about the holidays, they will be over soon lol.

Just waiting for hubbys passport to be returned... our tracking number does not work for DHL wondering if it does not start tracking until it is sent off?? My husband will have to drive all the way to MoBay to pick it up unfortunately...

Anyhow 2012 is looking to be a great year- I wont be sad to see the backside of 2011 that is for sure!

Kingston still has a few more days before holiday, put down the sorrel and shortbreads and send some more lovely peeps home to the open arms of their loved ones!!
