Where in Canada you guys coming to SQ? must be overwhelmingggggggg now to plan back out yu holidays lol

WWWwwoowwWWW. So many updates and good news. Congrats to everyone.

Since I got medical recieved I'm going to pay my right of permanent residence fee this friday, so that if my husband gets approved then the application process won't be delayed for another 2 months. I definitely don't want that to happen. I hope good news is coming soon for hubby and me. Goodnight.

Alberta!!!

But something wierd...e-cas says " November 2, 2011" is the date they begin processing our file LOL??!!??!!!?? Really?? LOL...I should hope you processed it before that point since thats about when you called us LOL! It still says in process even though they will have our passports first thing in the morning!

good morning everyone! I hope you are all doing well

SQ that just goes to show how ecas is unreliable! There has always been one mutual complaint from everyone that has ever been on this forum (or so I think) .... that KG NEVER updates ecas regularly and with the correct information!! No one ever knows what's going on, what they are doing on the file, did they receive it, do they need anything else? it's always been frustrating!! We hoped after their audit they would improve since that was one of the the problems mentioned in the audit. So far, it doesn't seem like it's all that much better.

When my husband got his visa in Jan/11 (and I know others before me as well) a "decision made" status update was made after he landed yet the CAIPS notes indicated a decision was made on Dec 16/10. I've never understood why they can't update the system if it's at their finger tips. Perhaps it's because they don't work efficiently and don't want a flood of calls prodding them to get their butts moving once they do update it

My MP told me that the file goes to different people for each stage of the process, it's not just one IO working on it. Once each person finishes their part they forward it to the next person to complete their portion. And once a decision has been made it goes to a final person for a final review of the whole file to make sure everything is in order. So I'm guessing some of the hold up is waiting in line for the next person to get to it.

There has to be a way for them to be more efficient and to improve on communication!!

Alberta!!! Brrrrrrrr lol!!!!! :P

Good Morning all ;D

I'm from Alberta too....and it can get bone chilling some days!! But so far no snow :D Ohh Lord, I hope I didnt just jinx it!
everyone have a fantastic day!! Hope to hear some news for those that are close by the end of the week!! would love to hear some landing stories!!

Has anyone had or been requested an interview? fingers crossed and positive vibes to all!!

Nae - agree 1000% with you on the lack of communication and the haphazard workflow making the process frustrating.

LOL, Mrs Lwsn and suki. So far its been nice weather in some unexpected places for November, maybe global warming is catching up to Canada, haha!

No additional requests for interviews other than the ones we have notice of so far, suki. I think that is an excellent sign for most of the applications pending.

Let's go, KG, let's GO!!! NNNNEEEXXXTTT!!! It's Tuesday, who's going to give my update fingers something to do today? Bets, anyone?! ;)

SQ are you coming to Calgary? :)

Charlie, would like an update for you alreadyyyyyy, you must be very close!! eh?

Close only counts in horseshoes and grenades, suki, LOL. I hope we are close, it would be great to get an indication that I am making progress too. In the meanwhile, plenty of folks with updates to generate some excitement! :D Last year this time KG went on a roll, and it looks poised to do the same again. We should be making plenty of noise in here, tee hee!

Nope not Calgary...I'm several hours away from Calgary. I did actually live in Calgary when I was about end end of my teens, first year of my twenties..before I got married and moved to Jamaica. Always kinda wonders if I could see faces, if I'd recognized anyone on here LOL!! Truely small world!

Well hubby dropped off passports this morning...so its official!! We are both wondering how long it will take to get them back. It seems Kingston is on a roll right now. Hubby said there was a ton of people dropping off passports same time as him. I think he actually had to wait in a little line of people doing just that at the gate who were all told to come in around the same time! The security say that Kingston seem to be on a roll right now because he's seen a real increase in people coming to drop off passports. So I hope that means its good news to all you still waiting!!

But seeing as how our medicals don't expire until March...it will be interesting to see if getting our passport back is as quick as the passport call after recieving the medicals updates.

Anyone know what happens to the passports with the DHL envelope? Will they mail it to us then? Thats what we assumed....but someobody was talking about how sometimes they send it to a location where you can go pick it up...first I'd ever heard that!

They will send it back to the address listed on the DHL slip/envelope that you sent, SQ. You are Ocho Rios, I think, so there should be no issues with delivery to you. Some persons must go to the DHL depot to collect packages because DHL does not deliver to their district or location. They deliver in the major towns and some surrounding areas, but otherwise you have to go to their office to collect it.

Edited to add: Regarding your turnaround time, SQ, it may not take a long time just because you have a good amount of time left on your medical. Remember the medical date is the absolute extent of the validity of the PR visa, but I have seen where someone's wife was given less time than the expiration of her medical to land. Her passport would have expired close to the time her medical would, so her visa was set to expire 4 months before her medical actually ran out! Also, take in consideration that KG has quotas to fulfill, and it may be that they shorten the validity of visas to ensure that persons land before the time for their quota fulfillment runs out.

Ahhh my...well I guess we will see CharlieD LOL LOL!! I think this is probably rare...someone crossing their fingers they are given longer to stay. Most people praying for a leaving date LOL!! Well whatever happens we will just work with it! But January is in the new year...so that crossed my mind...maybe they have people that need to be out before that!

today is my anniversary but its sad i am not able to be with my wifey.come on kingston too long now u have my passport and having me in suspense

Thanks Admirable!!! do you know how much the total cost was including the xray and blood tests?

It varies from doctor to doctor, RG. Have your husband call the office and find out from them how much the tests cost. Mine was $8,000 and change in total here in Kingston, but as I recall the Ocho Rios doctor was $14,000 and change. Best to contact the doctor and ask him.
