Yep progress!

Lonely_wife (no more!) it is overcast and rainy and cool in Kingston the past couple days. Not that you will ever hear me complain, because most of the time it is too hot for my taste! :P I recommended Benjamin's Honeytime last time you had a cough. It's a Jamaican brand so it might be hard to find in ON. You can make your own though, it's just basically honey, lemon/lime juice and a touch of rum (ok, maybe more than a touch if you are making it yourself!) but it works wonders for a cough.

Hi Everyone..

Sassy that's great! I will update that last listing I just posted! ;)

Good morning, everyone! It's a lovely February morning! With the updates yesterday I see KG is doing more, so let's cheer them on to keep them going, there are some more folks in the last lap they need to get to the finish line so the up-and-comers can take their place! ;D

Let's go, KG, let's GO!! NNNEEEXXXXTTTTTT!!!!!

And since it's Hump Day, here's a laugh:

One night, a police officer was stalking out a particularly rowdy bar for possible violations of the driving under the influence laws. At closing time, he saw a fellow stumble out of the bar, trip on the curb, and try his keys on five different cars before he found his. Then, sat in the front seat fumbling around with his keys for several minutes. Everyone left the bar and drove off. Finally, he started his engine and began to pull away.

The police officer was waiting for him. He stopped the driver, read him his rights and administered the Breathalyzer test. The results showed a reading of 0.0. The puzzled officer demanded to know how that could be. The driver replied, "Tonight, I'm the Designated Decoy."

Thanks for the recipe Charlie!!!

Hi everyone

Well he is here and I owe you all a landing story so here goes:

I worked from 6am-4pm on Sunday morning. After work I ran home, took a shower and tried to stay calm even though I accidentally started brushing my teeth with facewash and realized to my horror on the way down I forgot tp put on mascara...

I live a good 2 hours from the airport and his flight was due to land at 7:22 Silly me I thought I had lots of time. I got to the airport at 7:30 parked and walked to arrivals all the while trying to answer my phone which was going crazy with friends and family bbming me to death and calling wanting to know what was going on. I then realized that my phone battery was about to die so I found an outlet on the floor at the far left side of the platform and plugged my phone in.
It never even occured to me to check if his plane landed early (20 minutes early!!!) all I read was that it had landed and I assumed he would be awhile and even contemplated sitting on the floor for the long wait boy was I wrong! I looked up to see him walking down the ramp on the other side with his back to me so I ripped my phone out of the wall, picked up our coats and ran as fast as i could towards him. He stopped to look around and he started smiling and put his bags down to swoop me up.

it was everything I though it would be but way more. I actually had to get a grip because I had a mini panick attack as I am pretty sure I had stopped breathing. The drive home was lovely and we kept sqeezing each others hands and sighing big sighs of relief. I cannot believe it is over, I never thought we would ever be together here and it is surreal.

So far he has recieved his SIN number and a bank account and he has been applying for jobs. I was lucky enough to get Monday and Tuesday off and it has been pure heaven. He loves the snow and commented on how crunchy it sounds under your feet when you walk on it.Yesterday we saw a fox and a deer when we went for a hike. He really wants to learn how to ski with me and I am so happy he is finding the joy in winter like i do.

Going to work was hard this morning but I am looking so foward to going home and not sleeping alone or eating dinner alone..

Thanks everyone for your warm wishes and I will keep praying for everyone to get reunited with their loved ones soon.

RG - I cried reading your story. Congratulations and wishing you the best with your hubby. Can't wait to write out my landing story

Randysgirl love the landing story... I am so happy for the two of you... I am glad that you're hubby is enjoying the winter so far... It's funny how your hubby talked about how scrunchy the snow is under your shoes lol my hubby had said the same thing... Happy that things are happening for him and he is settling quite well so far... Congrats and tell him Welcome to canada from me and my hubby!!!

RG - Congratulations!! That's a wonderful landing story and gives the rest of hope that our spouses will get the call soon :)

Everyone else - For anyone that is applying for a spouse that lived in Canada and is now in Jamaica. There is apparently a backlog with the RCMP, CSIS and BS in completing police clearances. Although, the normal processing time is four to six months, a nine month processing time is not unusual right now.

RG...can't see the screen yet, still crying!!! So......so...happy for u both!!!!

RG - you brought tears to my eyes!!!
