Question Peps i was just checking my medical for and see it expires on the 9th of febuary.Hence i was ask to pay my landing fee i am just curious if i dont get a visa by then will i have to redo my medical?

Hey Sammystorm19 (interesting choice of nick!) welcome to the KG thread, please do stick and stay. May I first suggest that you read Leon's first post in the thread at the top of this forum, that is an excellent broad outline.

The cost to sponsor a spouse with no dependents is $1,040.00 Canadian.

In thinking about beginning the process, it is important to get a handle on the forms, so read first and then decide how to approach them. Make sure you read them together with your spouse. One of you will probably do the bulk of the paperwork, depending on who is better at that sort of thing, but you both need to know what is involved.

If you still have questions after reading (and you probably will, we all have so far), feel free to ask them here, someone will usually be available to try to help!

I am looking forward to getting back down there. I will be down for 2 weeks end of March to make plans for the wedding and to spend time with my honey. Then back again in July for the big day!!

I plan on sticking around here and getting all the advise I can get.

Welcome Sammy,may I suggest you bring your paperwork with you that way you can get all the signatures you need from him and all the other info about his family you will need- right away rather than fed ex-that can be costly, and have him do medical and security clerance prior to wedding, so when you get married all you have to wait on is your marriage certificate, and the pastor will send that.
I wish I had all my paperwork in order, would have saved a lot of time, money and stress!

And Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! it's so exciting, I was married in Negril!! It was wonderful!

i just had to tell u my app is close to yours just the only different the 2 children are accompaning. my husband as also been in Canada and we have been waiting for 13 months now!!!!!! 2010 seem to have been a bad year to apply !!! anyways we will be redoing our meds in feb when i go for a visit!!!!Congrats to everyone who has had updates congrats and amazing landing story to SQ!!!!! cant wait to have both our families here so we can get together!!!! one love....

@ tintin... Unfortunately, it's all about the waiting game at this point. You cannot expedite the the RCMP processing time. No, my husband does not have a record in Canada or Jamaica and no he was not fingerprinted before leaving Canada. One of the things I've slowly learned by reading these posts, is that everyone's situation is different and therefore, processing times will be different. If your spouse has never left Jamaica and does not have children, then the processing time is apparently significantly shorter. I've seen some people take three months, six months, a year, but in saying that I have not come across anyone sponsoring their spouse and two children (unaccompanied dependents).

In regards to how long it takes for Kingston to receive your application package, it is usually transferred within two to three weeks of Mississauga making their decision. What is important, is the date Kingston indicates they've started processing it.

Please do not let my situation discourage you, "the road is long, but not forever". There have been some amazing success stories on here and those are the stories we should focus on.

God's blessings. How are you all! My husband received a notice to re-do his medical. He had re-taken his medical and police check in December and hand-delivered it to the embassy in Kingston. Does re-doing the medical defer his application? Or how long does it take before we hear anything from immigration? Please help ???

Good morning forum family and I trust everyone is either at church or gussying up for it, splendid. I would be there but it's a working weekend for me. Welcome aboard sammy, your in the right place, lots of old timers and newbies alike to help you through. We got our Marriage cert back in 4 days, probably helped to be a little extra generous to the pastors coffers. I am sure you are aware that the PCC and Med are only good for 1 year so do them as close to the app being filed as possible.
Well it's Sunday and here's a little humour for those on line today, will add a couple extra just for you.

MARRIAGE

Farmer's Divorce
A farmer walked into an attorney's office wanting to file for a divorce. The attorney asked, "May I help you?"

The farmer said, "Yea, I want to get one of those dayvorces."

The attorney said, "Well do you have any grounds?"

The farmer said, "Yea, I got about 140 acres." The attorney said, "No, you don't understand, do you have a case?"

The farmer said, "No, I don't have a Case, but I have a John Deere."

The attorney said, "No you don't understand, I mean do you have a grudge?"

The farmer said, "Yea I got a grudge, that's where I park my John Deere."

Married Priest and Nun
A priest and a nun were lost in a snowstorm. After a while, they came upon a small cabin. Being exhausted, they prepared to go to sleep.

There was a stack of blankets and a sleeping bag on the floor but only one bed. Being a gentleman, the priest said, "Sister, you sleep on the bed. I'll sleep on the floor in the sleeping bag."

Just as he got zipped up in the bag and was beginning to fall asleep, the nun said "Father, I'm cold." He unzipped the sleeping bag, got up, got the blanket, and put it on her.

Once again, he got into the sleeping bag, zipped it up and started to drift off to sleep when the nun once again said, "Father, I'm still very cold." He unzipped the bag, got up again, put another blanket on her and got into the sleeping bag once again.

Just as his eyes closed, she said, "Father, I'm sooooo cold." This time, he remained there and said, "Sister, I have an idea. We're out here in the wilderness where no one will ever know what happened. Let's pretend we're married."

The nun said, "That's fine by me."

To which the priest yelled out, "Get up and get your own blanket!"

Going To a Lecture
The man was in no shape to drive, so he wisely left his car parked and walked home.

As he was walking unsteadily along, he was stopped by a policeman. "What are you doing out here at 2 A.M.?" Said the officer.

"I'm going to a lecture." The man said.

"And who is going to give a lecture at this hour?" The cop asked.

"My wife." Said the man.

Drink 'Till She's Cute
A man stopped at his favorite watering hole after a hard days work to relax.

He noticed a man next to him ordered a shot and a beer.

The man drank the shot, chased it with the beer and then looked into his shirt pocket. This continued several times before the man's curiosity got the best of him.

He leaned over to the guy and said, "Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice your little ritual, why in the world do you look into your shirt pocket every time you drink your shot & beer"?

The man replied, "There's a picture of my wife in there, and when she starts lookin' good, I'm headin' home"!

Bad Tooth
A man and his wife entered the dentist's office.
