SQ... I would like to add that it is important to include a cover letter with your husband name, DOB, the file number if you don't have your B number include the one Mississauga gave you on the sponsor acceptance letter. If I am right it is 8 numbers.

Hey folks! Hope everyone's week has been good so far! Hump Day is tomorrow, KG, we need to hear from you before the long weekend!

SQ - you don't need an appointment to take documents in to KG. My husband went twice to drop off additional documents for our application, both times they simply asked him for ID, if he knew the application number and whether the applicant and sponsor were identified on the cover letter inside the package, as mentioned by lonely_wife. The packages were accepted with no issues.

My Husband and I are going to apply for a visitors visa, before we apply for the Permanent residency. Is this wise?

I already have the application for the visa. I downloaded it off the internet. However my husband says something about getting an application and paying for it at the NCB? What is the procedure for this?

Thanks,
Danielle

Danielle, been there, done that, still have the rejection letter. If you are going ahead, may I suggest you pile every single piece of evidence that your husband has ties to Jamaica (job, land, house, children?) that outweigh his connection to you as a spouse? Non-visa-exempt spouses are considered high-risk for over-staying TRVs and as such are routinely denied them.

He has to pay the fees at Scotiabank, not NCB. There is usually a special line for them, same line as the express transactions.

heard that if we are up-front and honest about the fact that he is exploring his options - and seeing if he will "enjoy" living in Canada then we might have a chance.
Here is what we have.... We rent the house, we have no land together - he has a small house on capture land he rents out. we both have no children - BUT we have a block business together. Started it a year and a half ago. I was going to name myself as a partner in the business, however i needed a work permit for that... so it is solely until i file for my citizenship there, and can get my TRN and NIS.

I do not see how we should be applying for the permanent status, If he's never been here. What if when he gets here, he doesn't like it here?
Thanks,
Danielle

Actually, that is exactly the reason we used as well, but it didn't make much, so far as they were concerned. That he has a business is good, I had a job letter, and at the time I was bonded to my employer for the rest of the year, but again, they didn't consider it as outweighing my spousal connection. Maybe being a businessman will be more acceptable. Is the business registered, and does it file returns for payroll taxes and GCT? Does he have a rental agreement with his tenants? All of these documents will be good proof to attach to the application.

we don't have any returns as of yet, only because we officially started the business in January of this year. we were working for a bit "under" the radar to get a leg up on all of our expenses. As for workers... they are all contract workers... to alleviate some of the work for filing taxes for the workers. Also when we started it was difficult to get "steady" workers because we weren't working steady.... so by having them contract workers from the beginning we can get new workers quickly. This also helps when business is slow.

I'm starting to think i did everything wrong from the beginning, and the wish of spending my first Christmas with my husband is becoming further and further from my reach.

Danielle.

Danielle, he can still try. I hate to be a pessimist, but I don't give it a winning chance with a lack of documented "ties" to Jamaica. All Canadian Immigration is going to see is you in Canada, and him wanting to go there. Without firm, copious amounts of evidence to show he has every reason and intention to return to Jamaica, it is going to be an uphill task. You need to include everything that can show he has a business and other interests here that he cannot and is not planning to be away from long-term.
