Good evening everyone!!!

Well today was election day and I thought that permanent residents were able to vote so my hussy and I went to go the voting pole... I voted then I told them that my hussy didn't get a card so he needed to be registered and they registered him all they asked was for his health card.... He voted... When we left he said to me, I don't think as a permanent resident I can vote, I told him no, no you can... Then we got to my friends who just got her citizenship and she told us that hubby shouldn't of voted... opps lol.... I thought it was a little funny that they let him vote....

Congrats to Iambless on your landing and I am glad everything went well... best of luck to you in the process of filing for your daughter...

Lonely_wife, I am not sure it was a mistake. I don't think PR's can vote in Federal elections, but they might be eligible to vote in provincial elections. Let me get back to you on that one.

TGIF everyone! I hope those in Canada are looking forward to their Thanksgiving weekend. I know there is a part of the family that has to celebrate from afar, but still, let's keep that spirit of gratitude and be thankful for the fact that we have life and can celebrate even at a distance!

I wonder if I could tell my client I am taking the day off because it is a holiday in Canada? Nah, we have one in a week anyways, so I'll stay with that. Come on KG, it's not a holiday for you, let's get some more work done! NNEEXXTT!!

Lol LW he voted by mistake only citizens can vote period...bet he voted for NDP right lol

To vote in an Ontario provincial election you must be

•a Canadian citizen

•at least 18 years old on polling day

•a resident of the electoral district.

As a permanent resident, you and your dependants cannot:
•Vote or run for political office

Can't believe the polling station people didn't realise that, haha! Well, it lets him get his practice from now at being a good citizen. Like many young Jamaicans he was probably so disenchanted he never even registered to vote here! Let's see if the honourable Minister of Education and soon to be PM can change that... :
