Hi forum i have a quick question, i was wondering why do some people get meds and pcc (police clearence) redo while some, like my hubby, only get a redo for meds any help will greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

It depends when you did the PCC, mylilangel. Remember, both the meds and the clearances are valid for a year after they were done, so your husband has to re-do his medical because it expired during processing, and you must have an up-to-date medical in order to land. It is possible that depending on when he did the PCC, your husband's police clearance is still valid.

thanks CD10 for the quick reply, hubby's pcc was done on april 1st 2010 and the re-do letter was dated april 28 2011 so what do you think is it that they won't request a re-do of the pcc ?

I honestly don't know. So far as I know, everyone else who has gone over a year has had to re-do their PCC and meds. If they have not requested it from him, they must have a reason for not doing so that is obvious only to them. On the face of it, I cannot tell you why.

It's $2000 for the 5 days' return and some hours out of his life, but in the event he is asked for it because they have neglected to do so when they should, he would be ready. Would it be highly inconvenient for him to do it? It's something to think about, anyways, we all know KG can be very unpredictable and somewhat disorganized.

Charlie i think you're right am gonna have him do it, but what do you think he should do just send it to them or wait for them to request, and is it two places that he has to go to now or just one

As far as whether he only goes to one place goes, I am not sure. Have him call the Criminal Records Division to find out if the procedure has changed. They are listed in the Blue pages of the phone book (government offices and services).

He should hold the PCC unless he is asked for it. As I said, there may be a procedural reason why they haven't requested it, or there may be an oversight on someone's part. If it is an oversight, then it's best to wait for them to ask, that means they are aware and expecting it.
