Hey SmoothiesQueen, it's lovely and sunny with a little breeze the past couple days. There has been rain over the past couple weeks, I am pleased to say. The droughts over the past few years has taught me to dread this time of year in Kingston, but not this year so far.

Since the application was transferred, my husband has been very optimistic and happy, and talking about my "homecoming" even more. The reality of it has hit me, and I have been looking at Jamaica a little differently. I talk to him about places I still want to share with him when he comes here, as I know that when I leave Jamaica, it will be awhile before we return, and there are places here to be seen and enjoyed together. I particularly loved living in the Ocho Rios area, and still want him to see it a little more than just driving through offers.

My husband definitely wants to do the winter home thing. We are still debating that, as I have told him that northern summers are not my favourite time, and I would rather be in Jamaica during the summer than winter.

Ahh we are in St.Anne...its a lovely area. As for the winter home thing...my husband and I plan to do that eventually. Right now we are both still in the first half of our twenties...and just starting a family. So stability is a key factor for us. We will definatly be coming out for a month or at least a few weeks every summer, as well as one other trip a year.

I think for me...I just decided to relax and enjoy my last year in Jamaica. Hubby says this is the last time we will be young in Jamaica like this so make the most of it. I've stopped stressing about things..knowing a better future is coming instead I just say " ah well" when stuff goes wrong Jamaica style LOL!!

Although I did want to rip our neighbours head off yesterday. The darn man is a police who works in town so hes not always there...and when he is he's rude to the whole neigbourhood and very anti social, and the way our house is set up is similar to a town house style. So he has the larger part of the front yard area because we have the biggest house and a big garage. EXCEPT...the man has to park so we can't even get into the yard or to our garage and blocks off the gate entrance...and totally seems to "forget" his half of the yard. It was like three in the morning and hubby had to drag me inside because I was all for knocking and waking the stupid man up to move his car. I hate leaving my car outside the yard incase someone tries to steal it. My husband is from humble roots so I've stayed weeks before in some of the worst/famous ghetto communities in Jamaica with family and I'm extremly comfortable there, and I've lived in really nice posher areas...and people can teef of a you in ANY area I've learned. In fact ironically I've had less trouble in ghetto communities than richer ones...go figure...seriously tho...most the times I've been robbed have been in the so called richer areas. And I baby my car....LOL...so parking it outside the garage is a big issue for me!! Husband says that Jamaica has given me " to thick" of skin and sometimes I need to be " more afraid" of standing up to people on issues LOL LOL!! He says I'm a little fire cracker!

And Charlie I did put my email address on the application I believe! I took no chances!

I have fond memories of St. Ann/St. Mary. I spent 6 years between the two parishes, and wouldn't trade any of those years. I grew up and found a lot of myself in those 6 years.

I am a lot like that, SQ, I hate it when people act with little regard for others. And policement in Jamaica are ridiculously guilty of lack of concern for others. Don't you believe that rubbish about "Serve, Protect and Reassure" being their motto. I don't hesitate to call someone on it when they overstep my rights, but only when I know I can hold my own against them. Trust me, you don't want to try it with a Jamaican cop, they get away with murder, literally. Don't let me get on my soapbox about them.

I have to say, sometimes I forget that you're a decade younger than I am, you're very "together" in the way you write. Your husband is right, you're only young in Jamaica once!

Hey chukie! Yeah, the change of climate sucks, even my husband has gotten the flu each time he leaves Jamaica and goes back to Canada.

And Canuck and Mr Proper will just have to admit it, men revert to childhood when they become ill. I have seen my big brawny brothers laid low by a headache, yet stand unsympathetically by when I am bent double with pain. When they are ill they suddenly need massive amounts of tea and sympathy, and have a tendency to pout if they don't get it.

It has been an excellent Monday, wouldn't you guys agree?

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. Feels so good to know the process is almost over. Hubby is here now as a matter of fact so need to book a ticket we'll just drive across the border and land that way.

Quick question, he was given an address to send the passport to but do we include a return envelope for them to courier it back? How does that work?

Reemagray, you may now include a prepaid envelope for them to return your PP to. If your husband is planning to flagpole, then that sounds like the best way to get his PP down here and ensure it is sent back to you securely.
