We finally received the medical redo instructions and request for police certificates and original documents on Wednesday. Had hubby fax to me straight away as the way he read them to me, I was seeing red and was quite infuriated.
I think upon further review tonight I may have been misinterpreting the medical letter and am calling out to LCW and anyone else with medical redos and Canadian born children to quiet my mind and confirm I have things right.
They have asked for original birth certificates for hubby AND our Canadian born son, but not mine. I am confused why they would need original identity document for our child since he is not subject to the application as an accompanying or non-accompanying child since he is already a citizen by birth. IWe did declare him in the application and I sent copies of identity docs (birth certificate and passport). Anyone else experiance anything like this? It is no problem on these originals as I left both birth certificates for our son with hubby on the last trip (first one had father unknown since he was not here under provincial law to sign the original birth registration - we completed the required amendment this summer).
The medical letter is obviously a form letter and reads what I am assuming is standard: "it is required that you and members of your immediate family undergo medical examination. Instructions and forms are enclosed." When I first read it, coupled with the request for our son's birth certificate, I thought it was saying that our son also needed a medical, which would be ridiculous. However, when I calmly read tonight that the "forms are enclosed" and since the only form is for hubby, I am now working under the idea that it is only hubby as I had been expecting. Can anyone reassure me that I am now reading this correctly? After 13.5 months of waiting to get to this point, I want to be sure we comply exactly to their request to avoid any further delay.
On the police certificate, they say express is 7 days...is it really exactly 7 days? Its a long trip back and forth to KG for hubby and I want to be sure everything comes together in 2 trips for him. One to order police certificate and the second to pick it up and deliver it and the medical and the originals to KG in person.
Also a question on the marriage certificate. They asked for it single and JA issues 2,each with its own serial number. Do we just provide the original of the copy in the application or play it safe and give them both?
Lastly forum family, they did not ask for his passport in this package of requests. Has anyone recently left their passport when it has not yet been requested?
